  • Its The Wake up Call We Needed!

Many here are going to start losing there shit after this one loss...i repeat ONE loss. I believe in this team enough to know they will learn from this, We got to remember that WE ARE THE FOCUS of every team this year, all our plays have been looked at over and over and over... we are seen as the team to beat....if this take focus off of us a bit then that is a blessing... I think the team has got a bit to used to winning that they just assume it will come....we too are guilty of this... People are calling for heads already and calling names... Effort was not an issue tonight it was a lack of focus and i have full faith it will be talked about and fixed.

    Now stop death riding!

I get the feeling Robbo feared something like tonight happening, every single interview he did this offseason he commented on our disjointed preseason and the lack of preparation the team had together, even to the point that the players started to repeat it in interviews.

the question now is how long before Robbo can get the players back into the right headspace.

Its a normal forum reaction. You can only comment on the game played, and cannot predict the future, if we smack parra next week, it will be back to roosters for premiers, and love for all.

I agree that Robbo sounded worried about this game. I'm not worried about the rest of the year & just remember that this same game last year we lost 28-6..

souffs are convinced that they'll win the premiership now. It seems they learnt nothing from last year.

People need to realise that winning a comp is a marathon not a sprint. A team can have a slow start and gain momentum over 26 rounds. Losing the first round or 2 is not a big deal, as you have plenty of opportunity to make up those points as other teams tire later in the season.

Sure the Filthy Vermin were quick out of the blocks - just like they have been in the past few years. But by the time the important games are upon us they are mentally and physically stuffed and can't go that extra yard. It won't be any different this year, they will tumble and fall before the winning post.

Meanwhile I'm hoping that Easts will improve progressively throughout the season and have that extra bit left in the tank you need when the big games arrive. Just as they did in 2013.

And no matter how bad last night was - I was the one drinking my wine out of a 2013 Premership wine glass. Which is something the toothless rabble faithful can only dream about.

Let the tryhards win the first game of the season - hopefully we will win the last game of the season, like last year. That's what counts.

I tend to agree more good than harm will result from this first round loss.

I think if the officials ruled correctly play-on with the Maloney knock on we likely score and the whole complexion changes.

Overall we weren't as bad as being portrayed on here... A loss was coming its just a shame iit was the evil mob inglis etc who triumphed.

Build em up...and knock em down from a great height.

Ray lets not kid ourselves, with a fit Inglis and Burgess family including their mum they will be hard to beat. I was very impressed with young Walker last night, he looks to have potential and I'm told their other kid named Keary who is meant to play 5/8 is a super star. like us, they have got a good crack at this comp.

They are weaker than last year. Mascot b grade would've beaten us last night.
