The forwards are actually making good inroads. Evans, Meehan and Houma have had some decent runs. It's 32-4 and I'd hazard a guess Reuben's terrible defence has led to 20 of those points. MacDonald was awarded a try but he knocked it on. Shows how shit the refereeing standard is. There has been a couple of bad calls go against the Jets. A few crowd penalties. I think the only time we got a tackle in their 30 we scored off a bomb.

Penrith do look pretty sharp though. They've fielded a full strength side other than Sika Manu and James Roberts. I would say Soward but I think they're doing better for that.

Meehan and Idris clashed halfway through the half. Meehan is the only bloke out there strong enough to handle him. Manhandled Idris a bit and Jamal wasn't happy. Was praying for him to throw one and see the surprise on his face when Meehan squared up to knock the shit out of him haha

not bad for an 18y/o to be man handling Idris, can you imagine how big Meehan will be when he finishes growing, its a shame he will miss a fair bit of footy this year due to commonwealth games preparation.

Another 3 tries conceded 10 mins into the second half, hopefully all the Rooster contracted players are off and going home.

Any idea why Alex Thomas didn't get a run? Injured?

Cornish and Hastings both had their moments. Elliot made a nice 70m break towards the end. Uele looked strong as usual. Some big hits and solid runs. Mammary did a lot of good work. Looks much better than last year. Jokatama Dokonikivalu was strong at times, made a big break near the end. Jakiel Fuimaono looks promising, big powerful lock/second row that set up a try with a big run and nice offload. RTS' brother really didn't get enough time to do anything. Piki Rogers didn't do much with his time on the field.

All in all it was a bit scrappy tbh. Lots of loose carries. But most pleasing was our defence, we held Penrith out for some tough periods. Looked to have a great attitude on the line. Even Cornish looks to have improved defensively.
Agree with that on the whole Yak lots of errors with the ball in hand and a run of penalties gave Penrith enough ball to win the game. Lot to like about their approach to defence however. Agree with you on Naughton had an impressive around game. They still have plenty of improvement in their game.

Disappointing about Newtown but it is a bit of a mismatch - NSW Cup side playing a NRL Trial squad.
