  • what if anything did we learn from the 9's today

    - Pearce is looking very sharp early in the season, his running game was exceptional, carrying on from his form in the prelim against the Knights, hopefully he has the confidence to take the line on during the NRL season would add another dimension to our attack

    - SKD hasn't got any smarter in the off season, plenty of stupid passes/errors, also plenty of shirt grabbing defence, must be praised for his courage in the GF, but I am willing to be the first to say it, he is the most glaring weakness in our starting NRL 17.

    - Rhys Martin seems to have put a yard of pace on during the offseason and is clearly benefitting from becoming a member of our top 25 squad and the extra training, he will be a big chance to make his debut this year possibly after the Anzac test when we lose a third of our squad to the Kiwi's or during Origin when Boyd is playing for NSW.

    - be very afraid if we have some injury problems out wide, youngsters Reuben/MacDonald/Rokolati are no where near ready for first grade, all 3 are absolutely terrible in defence, not sure what has happened with MacDonald but he seems to have bulked up too much and has lost all exceleration, he is a enigmatic type of player its either brilliance or bust, until he learns to have some consistency he will go no where near first grade.

    - Freddy has still got it

    - has Napa or Evans done enough to earn a spot in the WCC 17 over Casty

I think Napa should be a sure thing for WCC.

Napa definitely, a member of our Premiership team
Maybe Casty as LOD given Liu could be injured

      Pearce is awesome
SKD & Tupou had better step up another gear because Moga is not far off
Personally would like Moga in the team as soon as he's fully recovered
The other young players have a long way to go but are on course

RTS to fullback, Mini to wing, Moga anywhere we can fit him is my mantra for 2014

I don't understand. You say Napa definitely and then Casty for LOD. Who would Napa be replacing from the GF team?
To me it looks like either Napa or Casty.

Might upset a few FPN fans, but I think it should be Casty and him playing for a spot on our bench along side Maubs, Mortimer and Napa. With Guerra/Cordner/SBW in our back row and Aubusson on the bench there is no place for FPN there, and he's certainly not a front rower imo, the Grand Final just highlighted that.

Like many I am a huge fan of Napa, even more when he added Thaiday to his list of big name forwards he has farked up

                CORDNER FPN SBW.

When it got down to the business end of the season last year Robbo really started to favour Guerra.

I'd be surprised if we don't go with 13. Cordner 12. SBW 11. Guerra

bravo to skid for his courage in the gf, i know hes resigned biut im very sick of his constant error rate, silly things as well! ill be very glad when moga is ready to come into the squad, then skid can really go walkabout, he looked as if he was just there for the nz experience?

He re-signed in 2011, I'm pretty sure his contract is up this year.

Definitely a big year for Skidsy.

We learnt that Mitchell Pearce is ready for the best year of his career by building on last seasons efforts.

By the end of 2014 he could well be one of the top 10 players in the game.

FPN looked like he bulked up over the off season. Looked bigger then previous years. Maybe more time in the front row for him this year.
