NRL rule changes to cut time wasteing

The wrestle and the strip rule I would've thought were the two areas that most needed to be addressed !

Whilst I agree the wrestling tactics are the real blight on the modern game mate, I always recall Bellyache years ago firing back at Waynekerr over his using the tactic in the media to paint Melba as the villains.

From what was said at the time Bellyache was Waynekerrs assistant at The Wankos in the late 90s and was instructed by Waynekerr to employ an expert in wrestling and grappling to slow the play the ball down and give his players an advantage.

That was the first time wrestling came into our game. Now every team follows the practice.

Waynekerr is the master at blame deflection and using the media "friendlies" he has cultivated to use to his advantage when he requires help to get his teams across the line and make himself appear humble and gracious and innocent.

Clamp down on the wrestle but at the same time get tough on walking off the mark in the play the ball.

Also introduce a mandatory season ban for squirrel gripping (and apply it retrospectively for offences that occured in 2013) and a life ban for second offence

Likely the rule changes were made for broadcasting purposes.The game is all about tv not the fans or players.

I don't like the no consulting the ref rule at all. The officials were diabolical with us last season.

Captains need to be able to keep them on their toes and remind them to be consistent.

Surely officiating was one of the biggest blights on the game last year.

Now the refs are even less accountable.

40/20s are overrated. In a good year a team will kick 5 ... a number that will hardly define your year.

Kicking one in a GF however, ala Sir Freddy, that can make a difference!
