MARTIN Kennedy and Tom Symonds have become the latest NRL players to be interviewed by ASADA, with the pair meeting investigators last week to discuss their relationship with a central figure in the probe.
Six weeks after interviews with the initial 31 players wrapped-up, the former Roosters teammates held separate meetings with ASADA officials after the NRL grand final.
Both Kennedy and Symonds are well known to Ben Darcy, who emerged as a key person of interest during the investigation of Sandor Earl, who admitted to the use and trafficking of peptide CJC-1295.
Symonds shared a Bondi unit with Darcy for most of the year, while Kennedy lived in the same apartment complex before recently moving elsewhere.
Kennedy, Darcy and Earl are long-time friends.
Symonds is a Roosters junior, but made a switch to Manly earlier this year.
Kennedy is moving to Brisbane next season.
It emerged this month that blood tests showing elevated hormone levels for three players had been intercepted from a phone belonging to a man with links to organised crime. The man is also a close friend of Darcy’s.
Photographs of the blood tests were taken from the files of personal trainer Sean Carolan, who was hired by the Roosters to provide nutritional advice late last year.
Darcy was working for Carolan at the time.
Kennedy and Earl convinced Carolan to employ their friend, who was experiencing personal difficulties 12 months ago.
Kennedy also introduced Carolan to the Roosters after he, Symonds and Earl had spent time training with the former boxer at a CBD Fitness First.
Carolan maintains he took the blood tests with the knowledge of Roosters coaching staff, but club doctor John Orchard complained because he was not consulted.
Carolan was told his services were no longer required earlier this year. There is no suggestion Carolan gave any player drugs.
A nothing story that will get the nuffies talking crap about us again
