Go and check I said all along for the last few months If we were refereed fairly then we would win the competition I also said all along Mini was not washed up like many here thought and that he was the best choice for NO1 AND we could still win a comp with him at fullback No hindsight all called before the event

The only reason they eased back a bit was because of the rants of Toovey Thurston and Neil Henry I have no doubt in my mind had these 3 not spoken out in such a manner then the flow of penalties would have continued for Souths in the 2nd half agnst Mnaly just like the 1st half

I haven't stopped thinking about it Andy. You pick the things that go against us, yet have a different take when something goes our way. That's the most amusing thing about it all. I am not bitter at anything Andy, it was the greatest year of footy in a very long time.

The best part about it, was I sat back and loved watching a great team. I didn't buy into the ref rubbish, and for all the dud decisions we copped this year, they even out and we copped a few our way when it mattered. I could never be bitter at the moment. Just a tad amused.

The penalty count stats that appeared on this site a few weeks back make it very it very obvious that this isn't just run of the green stuff, stuff that's going to even itself out in the long run. Over the last six years, a distant last on all counts. Some of the figures were amazing - penalty counts won by more than 3 Just 7 times while Cronulla had done it well over 40 times - penalty counts lost by 5 or more, 19 times for us, only 1 other club in double figures, with many of the top clubs around 2 or 3. How can those type of things be put down to coincidence or chance.

My take is that all the negative media we get ishaving a psychologically affect on the refs and vice versa for all the positive media and fairytales we hear.
