  • Name your three best and three worst value-for-money roosters

Rules: Name your three best and three worst value-for-money roosters and explain why. Intentionally limited to force you to think carefully. Players to be chosen from grand final squad and value based on contributions throughout the entire season.

No arguments on players pay. We can roughly work out what most of the players in contention are on.

No pom-pom waving softc*cks too afraid to name worst three.

    My Best:
    1) Moa - requires no explanation. Robbo should be locked up for slave labour.
    2) Friend - Joey spot on in saying he is the most improved player of the year.
    3) SBW - OMG. I just hope we aren't seriously paying the reported $1 million for next year. That kind of moula would drop him many places down my list.

    My Worst:
    1) FPN - Yet again saved his best games for contract renewal time.
    2) SKD - Kudos for battling on with a broken jaw. He still owes Todd Carney half his pay packet.
    3) Pearce - Still frustrates me. Usually the best half on the field in games we could win without him. Grand final another example of a tough game where I honestly couldn't rate him anywhere near Maloney, DCE, or Foran... good company admittedly but all on similar pay.

Better to pay plenty for SBW & WIN than half as much to someone else & NOT, seriously average AFL players get as much & as if it's your money, NRL owes him big time for putting ar$es on seats, 60,000 to souths game, records at home the list goes on....what would you pay to win back to back?

I know FPN is unpopular but fact is he played his best games AFTER contract renewal time...

It's a fckin insult to even contemplate picking 3 bad players from our premiership winning team go give yerself an uppercut & vote yourself in as the crappiest thread since winning the title...

              Going by this year:
              Best...
              1. Moa
              2. SBW
              3. Unsure what LOD and Guerra are on, but whoever is on the lowest salary out of these two.

              Worst...
              1. SKD
              2. FPN
              3. Maubs

It is simply preposterous to think up such negative view points about players who a little over one week ago helped our club win a 13th premiership title. This is a disgraceful discussion.

SBW-pay him whatever, he won us that premiership.

mini- if we are talking value for money, with his pensioner rebate he is great value for the safest fullback in the comp.

Friend- again value for money for a top 3 dummy half in the league.

                    worst value

                    FPN- too many mistakes, inconsistent.

SKD- was limited in attack this yr, defence has improved, but not any better than how most centers defend.

maubs- should probably be a starter every week, but seems to have been overtaken by boyd and guerra.

Very tough to make these calls after just winning the GF, but thems the rules.

oh please. It is a value-for-money discussion. Clearly none of those players are the worst in the team. As I said, no pom-pom waving softc*cks.

You remind me of all the crybabies who kicked up a stink at Perrett's departure. How many of you actually believe he would have been better value for money than RTS or Tupou?

That's the point. Pretend you are Robbo and make the tough calls.

Regarding Mini, I agree he was good value for money this year with cap concession. Be aware though that next year Pearce/SKD/Maubs are all eligible. So next year Mini automatically drops to my bottom 3. On the flipside, if we get rid of Mini (and SKD as rumoured) then Maubs and Pearce jump up the list.
