TR will have to come up with a new way of giving Jake Friend quick play the balls because there's no doubt the refs boss will be clamping down on the roll between the legs tactic that we unbelievably never got done for.
I think next season our forwards will be given free reign to offload. SBW will be even better I believe next year. And I think now that we've got a solid defensive foundation to start the pre-season with and players are more comfortable with their place in the team we'll see offloading as the main weapon to get our sets rolling. JWH, FPN, Liu and Evans are all very good offloaders and i think they'll be encouraged to do so to get us on the front foot. Effective offloading is a good sign of attitude too in my opinion. Offloads up the middle make your hooker more attentive, they keep your fullback running inside trials as well. And if your team does make the most of a good offload and catches the defence on the back foot and without markers on the next play a good dummy half will see this and run forcing his halves to push up on both sides of the ruck often meaning your edges have to push up to take advantage of the compressed line. They keep the team in motion in attack on those mid-late set tackles which says a lot about the attitude of your team.
We'll have to be more creative to roll up the field next year cos we won't be afforded the same kindness in the ruck when attacking meaning we'll be slower at every ruck.
