  • Walking off the mark decisions in the GF

Was anyone else surprised when the referees twice stopped play and insisted that Roosters players play the ball again after they were judged to have walked off the mark?

Was this done at any other time in the 2013 season? Souths must make 200m a game doing this.

To be fair Jared made about 10 metres off his.

I was surprised. Surprised we were not penalised.

The lack of penalties against us was the biggest surprise of all.

I'm not saying that our players didn't walk off the mark. I'm just pointing out that some teams made a habit of this and that I could not recall them ever being picked up in this way.

I can only remember the one but there was no way you could have let Jared play it from where he did, as adzta said it should have been a penalty.

No it shouldn't, other teams have done it all year.
The Rabbits do it nearly every play the ball.

During the season I've seen many teams made go back and play the ball on the spot where they should have.

Manly are just as bad when it comes to giving away penalties. You need to realise, penalties against do not matter when you can defend them. Manly have proved this for years, we have not.

The best part about this season, is that we outplayed the best in the business many times. They are a great club Manly, and we proved that we are even greater.

We should never have been penalised like we were all year, all decade for that matter.

Indeed they have and indeed they do but the old rule was that it was a penalty, I wasn't aware they changed it.

I actually thought it was great referring. I think Hayne has the most common sense out of all of them.

Lets be thankful about the fact that Jared never got pinged once for his Nfl style, heave to the quarterback, play the ball! He got continually warned, continued to do it and never got pinged once! It was like rolling a barrell backwards :-P

We deserve to raise the bar in terms of penalties next year, I hope the refs smash us.

I was surprised that we were penalised TWICE in 80 minutes! Very unusual considering our treatment/discipline during the season.

The way Prelims and GFs are refereed makes us so much harder to beat.

No massive 10+ penalties against as a leg up.

Ironically we replaced their impact with some horrible ball control in our own half.

Looking back, we were downright awful for 35 minutes of that game. Thankfully in the second stanza of each half we picked our game up and totally blew Manly off the park.

At our best they couldn't compete with us, not even close.

One thing that the Manly fans are whingeing on and on and on is how we weren't penalised enough since we are the most penalised team in the history of sports. Maybe that was a great scam by Robbo to get ourselves be the worst in the comp and then on the GF while the other team are banking on penalties, they don't come.

I thought Manly stripped the ball far too often. Everytime they went into a tackle, they wedge their arm in between the man and ball and then pull it out quick, thus the player like JWH and RTS drop the ball. It even happened to LOD but the ref caught Buehrer and penalised him. Manly are 'cheats' :-)
