DT is reporting that if JT is appointed as eels coach that hoppa will want out of his contract! I don't know where we would put him as I wouldn't want to cut anyone in our back line but if I had to pick someone it would be mini to retire as I believe sacrificing a 3-4+ year contract player to give our captain one more year is silly. I love mini and have always wanted him to stay. But at the prospect of adding hoppa to our back line I think it is fair that he makes way. 250+ games and 2 premierships is enough. If we don't get hoppa I would rather mini stay and not get Fergo.

Hoppa's price is far too high for someone that hasn't played for 2 years imo and the memory of Ferguson's last game against us is still very fresh in my mind. Ferguson has the potential to become another Inglis.

Thats the risk i suppose but the club can minimise the risk by adding contractual clauses. Todd Carneys behavior didn't change suddenly after he left the Chookies i'm sure like most young guys he still hits the piss, remember these are young guys in their early twenties with too much money and time on their hands. Our problem is with News and their vendetta against the club who always make mountains out of molehills over our players misdemeanors.
