  • Sio Siau Taukeiaho

Reported here and in RLW we signed this guy from Warriors. He played last game of the year forWarriors against St George and I remember taking note of him in his limited touches.

Will he be going around for the under 20 Warriors at the GF? Anyone seen a team list?

I've heard he's in the same model as BJ, is a talented backrower with attitude problems.

                Looks like it might happen.

Vodafone Warriors utility Sio Siua Taukeiaho has today been granted an early release from his contract. The 21-year-old, who was off contract at the end of the 2014 season, has been in the club’s NRL squad for the past two seasons.
He became Vodafone Warrior No 184 when he made his NRL debut in the final match of the season against St George Illawarra in Wollongong.
Taukeiaho spent the balance of the season with the Auckland Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup competition.
Vodafone Warriors general manager football operations Dean Bell said Taukeiaho wanted to pursue other opportunities.
“We thank Siua for his efforts for the club and wish him all the best for the future,” he said.
Taukeiaho was a member of the club’s 2011 NYC grand final-winning side and a Junior Kiwi that season as well.

‘Siua’ played for the Otara Scorpions as an 18-year-old in the Auckland premier club competition in 2010 (the same club Ruben Wiki and Manu Vatuvei played for in their formative years in rugby league). He was educated at Sir Edmund Hillary College, which also produced Kiwi captains Dean Bell and Wiki as well as Vatuvei. Started the 2011 season on the wing before moving to second row and performing strongly all season, racking up plenty of metres and scoring tries regularly. Capped off the season with selection in the Junior Kiwis.

He could be anything, you never really know at that age. The most important thing is that the attitude is there and that he is always looking to improve and evolve. He could be a backrower or a prop or a fullback by the time he retires, no one knows. It really depends on the skills he attains and the way he develops his individual role in the team/ game.
