  • Argument settled

All week I read and heard that last nigh's game would settle who is to be regarded as the best forward in the game, SBW or that filthy Pom Burgess. Well it was a knockout decision to SBW. At least he faces up to his opponents man to man, not take advantage of them whilst held down on e ground, and not grab their testys .

Mitchell Pearce also proved his superiority over Adam Reynolds.

Adam who???? Didn't hear his name mentioned once in commentary last night.
Pearce however, played it as he saw it and didn't look perturbed at all in the second half. Pearce was huge in our 2010 finals run, so he's been there and done it before.
Back to the lol@souffs No.7.... the guy answered everybody last night with his no-show; he isn't worthy of being compared to Pearce. Biggest game of his career and even though their forwards achieved good ground, he was unsighted. God forbid they put him in a Sky Blue Jersey on the same ground with 25000 more people in the crowd.

How on gods green earth can you get away with kicking/digging your leg into a guy on the ground? Then pushing his face into the ground. It wasn't a hard kick, but its a dog act. Best part was Pearcey stepping in.

Pearce proved that he needs a good 5/8 outside him, as was the case in 2010.

He ain't JT or Lockyer or Johns or Fittler. There about the only players I have seen as halves who can carry a footy team on there own and there all arguably some of the greats of the game.

Fair call. They linked for both of Maloney's tries. Reminded me of when Carney used to play off Pearce's hip... lethal combination.

No he did not. As any scrumhalf or stand-off to play the game of rugby league has done before he proved that a strong and dominant forward is required to put in the exceptional performances and it has very little to do with who else is playing in the halves with them.

SBW is the best player in the game, in fact he is the most gifted player in any Oval ball game.

Once again proved it last night, Big Game player who delivers a 10 in every way when needed.

Its a bit like comparing Cassius Clay (Muhammed Ali) with Joe Bugner

the last 10 minutes of the channel nine commentary and in particular ray warren was pathetic.i viewed the game from overseas and it was just plain as day he was cheering souffs home added with all the burgess crowe romanticism was sickening.he was so quite the last 5 minutes knowing too well the result.
