the worst thing was his rushing of the defensive line and then missing the tackle, left huge holes all day long.

Especially on their right wingers (can't remember the name) try. He was defending one in, they already had an overlap and he rushed up and missed hanging tupou out to dry.

Eventhough he's had the odd good game post SOO I wish he would get back his pre chosen for SOO form, bag me out if you wish but i feel that it's gone downhill bigtime, since that time penalties galore damn he gives away some ruck penalties, he can pull off some fantastic passes but he's also good for some crap as well His defence has never been good even when he was with the Warriors so complaining about that isn't going to change it. Atleast his goalkicking is usually topshelf.

Surely you don't expect Maloney to be able to tackle Taylor by himself.

Maloney is really too small to be playing in the NRL, but he's served us well this year.

Seems to me that other teams' coaches have worked us out...all our plays/attack.
Also worked out our defensive patterns and weaknesses in the backs.

His defence has been great for most of the year....just was really bad today.

As Robbo has said, defence is all about attitude for Maloney. His attitude in the lead up to this game (in various interviews) concerned me and it showed today. Something tells he'll be back on track next week.

he needs a break from the footy show. His day job is RL. This needs to be his sole focus.
Personally, I'll be dissappointed if he appears again this season

He's on tv far too much.
                  Too many distractions.
..and the 'drama' of Fathers Day and the earlier loss of his own father for him would've been very 'upsetting' today.

As soon as I saw RTS in the Big League program as the pin up boy today I knew he would have a shocker.
It happens, as night follows day.

Look at all the "face of League' disasters there have been.

Yeah that's it , cause he has been on tv that's why he cant tackle lol. That will do me. I really do like him in attack but he is a ****ing turnstile in defence, always has been. His misses today were pathetic, going way to low. If he atleast put his body on the line and tried to hit and stick, at least he would slow there momentum if ue missed and others could slide and help.

                      It's all about focus.

He's little in stature...no way he can be expected to tackle the Burgess train ilk by himself.
Mini's 'spider monkey' tackling style would suit him better.

It was our two wingers who let tries in and cost us the match, not Maloney.

Maloney doesn't have defence, one of our big problems. Souths will have fun running Sutton and the Burgi at him.

Our other problem is not having a halfback who can get repeat sets and gain us good territory with kicking.

I thought the same turk...for a little bloke they ran plenty of traffic his way and he came up with some good tackles on big lugs.
