  • A ray of sunshine

I still hold plenty of hope for our chances this year. My son's U16s team have been playing perfect footy leading into the semis. In the major semi we beat the team running 2nd by 40pts, yet on GF day yesterday we committed 8 errors in the 1st half in our quarter and another 4 in the 2nd half, yet we won because we were classier, however the nerves got to us making those errors.

Similarly the Roosters had their worst game errors wise, and had no motivation to win, and yet it was 4 tries apiece until that last minute intercept. So I'm still very optimistic come semis time, however I do stress that if we give that much ball to any team in the top 8 , we will be going Ho,e earlier than expected.

I reckon the only positive to take out of that game is that the actual 2 points was meaningless.

We need a massive turnaround next week.

hopefully that is why they played as they did. Still not good going into the finals with 3 possible losses.

Most disappointing thing today was to finally get the lead, but then give it away.

That's the worst I have seen SBW play. Think I would rather see Jennings running of him.

OMR...Your kids must all be of fair age by now? Daughter still a bulldogs fan? Congratulations to your son!

Agree with everything you said mate. Clearly the same Rooster side from today won't turn up with the same crap against souffs. I just hope that we don't give up an early lead next week otherwise, may be just too hard to fight back.

            Go the Roosters

On that, what is our biggest comeback this yr after being down at the half? Dont think we have been in that position very much, prob why I cant think of one.

Someone said to me today, their mind was on next week, I think they were not far off the money.

It'd be impossible not for their minds to be on next week. However KB, we lose next week, I think our mindset might make for a very hard finals campaign.

Players and supporters alike have hit the wall momentarily.

He made some half breaks and good runs today. I also so don't see how running into the defence is being a cat?

SKD was shite....they all were shite!!.

I now know why we were all given free tickets for the kids and friends of members. They must have known that no-one in their right mind would pay to see the crap served up by them today. I hope they were off because they were thinking about next week....but personally I am worried.....I reckon they have hit the wall.

SBW seems to have gone off in recent weeks since the Chiefs/NZRU made their 3 year offer to him......those one percenters are now nil percenters!

On a side note the kids and I were privileged to meet Billy Gunn immediately after the game as we were in Bay 24.....a really lovely bloke with a most beautiful family.

5th tackle options, we currently just bomb & hope...Not too hard to defend if the kick is off...
Hope we have something else up our sleeves for the finals

Trouble is, we never get many penalties to get us close enough to do anything else much.
Unlike other teams, especially the ones who play us.
Manly the other night for example.

Titans spent most of yesterday's match offside...should've been penalised another 20 times.
Forward passes all day as well.

Where ever is our 'home ground advantage' that other teams get?
                              Answer; nowhere to be seen.
