It will take a miracle to win the minor premiership.......
Last night, chiefly because my team wasn't playing, I watched the refs - especially who took control of the defense and which ref penalised. I urge everyone to do the same.
Through doing this, It becomes apparent who is managing the match. At present the NRL gets away with it because with 2 refs, very few pay attention to who blows penalties and who refers upstairs and with what decision (this is becomming critical as vidiots need to find something to overrule the decision).
People who do not believe please start watching each ref in this manner. It is most enlightening.
I'd love to see stats of refs penalties V each team. Is this publicaaly available?
Lol, dude I'd rather kick myself in the nuts all night while eating raw onions and squeezing lemon rind in my eyeballs than watch Reffs reff.
Aint much difference between 1st and second only a little extra prestige >let Souffs have it so we can wipe the smiles off their faces later...all I know is they dont want to play Melbourne absolutely shitting themselves so I guess if we get it they will have to face them.
Yes Brain......No difference except if we don't get MP we face storm first week.....but we will be at home.
IMO it could be an easier path if we finish second. I rather play Storm with a second bite of the cherry than play them sudden death before the GF. Don't get me wrong I still want us to smash the Vermin scum next week....but finishing second may be easier for us in the long run.
This could be the scenario......If $ouffs beat Manly (they should with the refs assistance), and we manage to beat Melba (I'm confident we can at home), Souffs then face the tantalising (but fearful prospect in their eyes) prospect of playing Melba in a PF for a spot in the GF.........akin to watching a condemned man's last days on death row....$ouffs and their supporters would shit bricks!!!
"There's a lot of people competing for title of dumbest chookpen member such as Tommy S, Rusty, Johnny, ROC, Tobin but without a doubt you are the worst, youre thick as a brick christ this is the dumbest thing I've read in a long time you should go back to supporting the panthers"
Last night the Tigers were the better side, the pricks in pink couldn't gets their lips around the whistle quick enough to get the vermin back into the game, Bros were laying all over the Tigers players and were 7 mtrs back at best most the night and received 3 or 4 penalties for the match.
Vermin drop the ball "strip" Tigers have the ball ripped out, play on.
2010 all over again.
One good thing to come out of the game is the tigers showed if you take the Vermin on up the middle especially with quick players from dummy half, you will find more holes than a Kings Cross brothel.
Here we go again with the conspiracies. The tigers score their points when Souths have 12 men. And u reckon they were the better team?
Sure, tigers aimed up and had a go. Except for that pathetically overpaid footballer, Adam Blair, who is a turnstile. But South's were always going to win and in the end their superior class shone through. It had nothing to do with Refs and they were not the better team. Unless of course you only watched the first 20 minutes.

Gus said it well during the commentary.
Same scenario as last Monday night except while we let ourselves down by becoming ill disciplined and loose, Souffs were impressive in that they stuck to their gameplan despite the Tigpies playing very well and themselves not anywhere near their best.
I HATE Souffs but I'd be an idiot to underestimate their superior attitude they showed last night.
As I said before round one, we are Souffs last year. They are a year ahead of us, coach, players, structure etc.
I just hope we have another gear or two to go up when it counts. I fear Souffs do now.

Refs and the Minor Premiership aside, we aren't even guaranteed a spot in the top 2. The worst case scenario is if we lose our final two games and Melbourne win theirs, we could be headed to Melbourne in week 1.
Hopefully we get the Titans tomorrow and then focus on smashing the Rabbitohs next week.
You dont beat Souths up the middle, that's their strength. Last night the tigers were assisted by the sin binning of S Burgess, they made yards and inroads because they threw the ball around and found gaps in the souths defence, Souths didn't adjust to the 12men defensive structure and were caught with their pants down. Even though two tries were scored from kicks by the tigers they battled Souths by mixing up their attack. I wouldn't be taking them on up the middle that's for sure, souths with 13 men back on field did score 32 unanswered points from the 20 minute mark of the game.
i agree dont take them up the middle , i expressed that opinion months ago to friends.tdk i like to add that our high ball tactic wont necessarily work with the grub inglis. my tactic would be kicking for the line all day so to then organise our defence.it would do the vermins heads in whilst not allowing grub inglis or the wingers any space

Tigers can't beat the Storm so neither can we.
Wait hang on... what was the score last time we played the Tigers?
We lost the minor premiership the minute Sonny Bill did that stupid shoulder charge, got penalised and killed all our chances in the first half against the Sharks.
SKD waving the ball around in the air and having it stripped then the Sharks in under the posts didn't help either.
0-26 at half time against the Sharks...baaah!
There went the minor premiership.
Hope our players look a lot more alive on Sunday than they did that Monday night.
