So based on your logic going for repeat sets is a waste of time because it give the opposition time for a breather and to set their defence

The inference being This was deliberately misleading to the public and not a mistake with the penalty count Much has been made of how many penalty counts we have lost So lets tell everyone that Easts actually won one when in fact they didnt

Ok, so it turns out that I can't count, and we won the count 11-10 as advertised.

Still feel a bit hard done by though...Sharkies penalties were nicely spaced and always in a position for them to either get out of trouble or have a shot at goal.

Ours on the other hand were

          11 mins, half way line
11 mins 5 out from tryline
16 mins on our own line
23 mins 25 out from sharks line
24 mins 5 out from tryline

44 mins 20 out from sharks line
          45 mins 5 out
          46 mins 5 out
          46 mins 5 out
          67 mins 10 out
          76 mins 5 out.

Seems he was mad keen to give us penalties when we were already upfield.....

Yes, along with already being down 26-0 so doesn't matter as much as our chances of winning at that stage were near zero!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

            Here's looking at you, kid.

Does anyone honestly think we were the better team?
All this talk of being ripped off by the refs? We didn't deserve to win the game and to be honest it was the kick in the arse we needed imo. Sharks were simply tougher on the night. Yep we were coming home with a wet sail but I still think they were worthy winners.

No, we weren't the better team by some margin JC.....I couldn't say we deserved to win if you had a gun to my head.

The thing is though, any chances we had of staging an unlikely comeback were firmly nipped in the bud. Every time the Sharks got down our end in the second half, they were given a penalty and an easy 2 points to keep them nicely out of our reach.

If this was the first instance of bad refereeing we've had to put up with over the course of this season, then this game wouldn't have even rated a mention. The fact that it's the latest in a very long line of games where we weren't given 'the rub of the green' seems to have everyone offside. A bit like the refs see our defensive line.

We were by far the better team in the second half.

The better team does not always win - it's not synchronised swimming or rhythmic gymnastics.

The point is though, the referees were shite and impacted the overall result. I think that is what people are dirty about.

Sounds like many are getting their excuse rehearsed should we lose the big one. To hear people argue that us getting penalties in their 20m area is somehow a disadvantage was laughable. The sharks clearly got over the top of our forwards in the first half and probably ran out of steam towards the end but to blame the refs everytime is becoming tiresome.

Bollocks. The calls in the second half were atrocious and directly impacted the result.

The no try call against Shek impacted the result. The penalties were okay, our guys don't know when to get off a tackled player.

some of the refs calls did impact our come back which I honestly think we could have come back and won. Letting in 26 points though was just to soft and in the end our defence wasn't up to scratch that night

... and other players in every other team that plays the Roosters do know when to get off a tackled player?
                            Please.

About time the team starts taking responsibility for what they CAN control. I watch most games each weekend, and all teams cop dud calls every game.

Stop with the it's everyone else's fault mentality. Ahh the youth of today..

All teams get dud calls, but they even themselves over the season or maybe even out over a couple of seasons.

But we've been copping it for over a decade now, someone had the stats on here about a week or two ago. What was it we've won the penalty count over the course of a season for two years out of the past 15.
Throw in some absolute clangers we've had over the past few seasons (we seem to collectively get more than most other teams), including an absolute carve up in the 2010 GF ......I can understand the paranoia streak in this place that's growing by the week !
