But if we cop some of the shit we did last night in a Prelim or GF vs Souths, well I mean what is a person supposed to do? How much are we supposed to take?
Suppose we're down 18-16 with two minutes to go and we get denied in a Prelim vs Souths with a no try ruling like the RTS one last night ... there's no way I ever want to experience that.
But it's a real possibility. And non football loving people don't understand just how hurtful that would be. And frankly, I would have no intention of ever experiencing it again.
In which case, like you, I'd be done with the game. There's no way I'd be willing to continue to put my emotions on the line like I do when they're vulnerable to constant incompetence (at best) or bias (at worst, even if on a subconscious level).
I'll continue to buy a Roosters membership, but no way could I watch another game again. I, too, would be done. There's only so much someone can take.

I never bought into the Conspiracy theories either, but that is mostly because I would get so angry when we used to lose from a bad decision that I'd throw the closest thing next to me or kick a chair, and would basically act like a child, it angered me more when non rooster supporters would say that its not just roosters that get the bad calls, it happens to all teams, I couldnt be bothered fighting it anymore cos you look like a bigger child.
thats why now days I still buy their merchandise and attend games and love a win as much as always, but the losses dont affect me that bad anymore, cos the result wont change, mates cant even work me up anymore cos I dont bite back. Too much lost energy on trying to explain explain why a decision was wrong, when people dont care anyway.
thats why this yr, we are on top, with ordinary penalty counts and decisions, but we are still on top. Im happy.

I had similar conversations with friends today.
I just wrote a really insightful post but I could be sued for its content so it will not see the public light of day.
I recently heard Arthur Summons talk of how he cannot forgive some of the decisions in their GF loss to the Dragons, nearly 50 years on. I understand his bitterness.
I am close to throwing it in like Bears fans have. I don't know if I have the fortitude to see it through but why waste my time when the referees can hide (there's more pink out there than ..... <insert rude metaphor>) and most fans can't tell which ref made each decision. I wish Easts would act as we are their fans and I wish they would include us when calculating a response to the NRL.
I am angry because all the points raised about last night deserve to be raised with the NRL. Sadly nothing will be done until a team walks off the field and causes the spotline to be directed towards this.Written and published on behalf of the Liberal Party, Queensland

Get sport betting out of the game of rugby league and you will see the teams deciding who wins, not officials. How's that for a conspiracy theory.
I say for all those that are going to throw it in when we get rorted again by these crooks we all jump the fence and make sure they get the next call right (000). They get away with it every week and it makes me sad that this game we all know and love is not for the fans anymore but about the money.
Every post in this thread i agree with and is actually helping me get over the anger toward the NRL for making sure they got the Rd26 clash they wanted. Thread should be renamed 'group therapy'. LolIs that the full story,
or is your news limited?

I love a punt and seem to get screwed often by a team or comback that shouldnt happen. Had 2 bets alive on the weekend both needing brisbane lions to win by more than 10 points, lions lead at half time by 80-30, they scored a total of 20 points for the second half to win 100-93. Bye bye a $960 return for 20 bucks.
always makes you wonder....
