    Chooks favourites to land Ferguson
The Roosters remain favourites ahead of Cronulla to nab exiting Canberra star Blake Ferguson, but don't rule out South Sydney or Canterbury. With their rich and strong history of indigenous players, the Rabbitohs believe they can keep Ferguson on the straight and narrow and get him playing his best football. And then there's the Bulldogs. As one Belmore insider told The Lurker: "Do you think Des would be letting Ben Barba go if he didn't a have a quality replacement lined up?" The Chooks' thick cheque book may have the final say, though. Watch this space.
    - The Lurker

Roosters forward Luke O'Donnell has taken the early guilty plea after yesterday being charged with a Grade 3 Dangerous Throw following an incident in the 33rd minute of Monday night's 56-14 win over the Wests Tigers.
An early guilty plea carries a weight of 393 points and will see the former NSW and Australian forward miss three matches.
At this stage Luke's replacement for next Monday's match against Cronulla is still to be announced.

    LOL Thick cheque book?

I think the "Lurker" will find that it's the same thickness as every other club (i.e. salary cap).

What a load of shit from someone who won't even put his name to his rumours.

Remain the favourties to sign Ferguson? Because Rothfield said so?

That's enough internet for me today.

Back to the bad old days, signing bad boys with talent and apparently paying big dollars for the luxury. These actions are the type that breed jealousy and discontent amongst the playing group, paying a lair like Ferguson big dollars will test the harmony amongst the group. I can understand paying marque money to SBW, Inglis, Smith, Thurston and alike but to Blake Ferguson, no way, he is a time bomb and not the Carney or Dugan type, its alleged he has the maturity of a 13 year old.

I wouldn't think the field would be that big. He probably only made the bench.

Morts is a smart kid, he'll probably be one of the select few that has a half decent career after footy that doesn't involve commentating.

I fail to see how we could ever afford Ferguson, especially because I assume (hope) that SBW will still be looking hot in our jersey next year. Although the thought of Jenko and Ferguson in the centres excites the hell out of me, I hate his attitude and his lack of respect. Plus any rello of Mundine... Mmmm no thanks.

If we land Ferguson then we can assume SBW will not be here next year. That alone is sad news.

Rumours are that SBW has concerns about playing another year in NRL, he wants to play on in rugby for another five years and believes the weekly rigours of rugby league is placing too much strain on his body.
