John Sutton is a class player and Souths Player of the Season so far IMO.

When people talk about Souths size it's not the forwards that set them apart. We can match the two Burgess boys as the rest aren't anything special IMO. But what makes them unique is the size of their 5/8 and fullback. When they get a roll on they can be really hard to stop as Inglis and Sutton are lethal off the back of quick play the balls in the opposition's 20.

He'd be a huge loss and only a biased fool would say he's an average player.

Ridiculous - you have been anti-Sutton for a long time, and for a long time your criticism of him was accurate, but he's been a different player this year, and is a big loss for them.

Reynolds, Inglis and Maguire have all said Sutton is the most important player in their team and club, plus Sutton is/was Dally M leader along side Inglis before they stopped showing the leaderboard to the public, so either it's all one big joke to see if anyone picks up on it, or KingBilly is living in the past and has rarely seen Sutton or Souffs play this season.

Either way, I hope Souths without Inglis & Sutton aren't like Storm were without Slater. They were crap for weeks but then he came back fresh and they killed it and obviously won the comp.

Dont know where this info is coming from As he is not going in for scans till this morning Fuinny thibng was I had 3 people tell me 3 different things yesterday like they were in the know In spite of what is known and documented about him not having scans till today

yes I am living in the past. I will give Sutton the credit that at least he is a first grade player this year,but thats more MAguire's doing than Suttons. He is still as dumb as a housebrick and I would not want him in any team I supported.
watch when he plays and gets put under a bit of pressure, the wrong options start dominating his game.

Luke hasn't got a brain, but he has some smarts.
He preys on poor marker defense. He always runs at markers that aren't square, or defenders that are getting back to the line.
This gives him an easy 10 meters, or a penalty.
This has given them great go forward all season.

Sorry billy-boy, you're just another of the collective; who once they've made a statement about a player, feel compelled to vehemently support it, no matter how ridiculous your comments are.
Actually watch a Souths game from 2013 and take note of what Sutton does in the team. His 'ineptness' is going to be sorely missed.

I think Souths hopes die without Sutton and GI, both are leading Dally M points and both are massive X factors. IMO they come right back to the field without these two backs, they don't look half as dangerous now and we should be chomping at the bit to play them in r26 and the semis.

Sutton's simplified his game this season and he's much more dangerous as a result.

He plays straight, much like Isaac Luke.

The two of them straighten Souths attack.

Reynolds shifts about a bit, but he also plays straight.

That's why they're so dangerous Souths.

They just go forward from all over the park.

They've dropped some form in recent weeks, but it's only August.

Melbourne have now served notice too with that performance in Canberra yesterday.

As for us, I worry that we're peaking too early.

A loss might not be a bad thing.
