It is interesting now that as Jimmy is having a form slump Mitch is playing better than ever...and sub the reverse for earlier in the year.

Bit of a pendulum....imagine if they both hit form at once.

    Maybe come finals time...

Cooper Cronk was rather poor yesterday and his errors cost his team valuable momentum against Auckland.

Pearce was solid yesterday he ogransied the side well and controlled the momentum in patches of the game. He moved the Newcastle side around well when we were struggling for yardage and most importantly in a grinding game like yesterday he didn't overplay his hand. His bombs were consistently landing close to the try line and as soon as our defence arrived which was forcing them to bring it out from their own 20 all game.

Mitch2 did a great job also, playing at lock for the first time in a long time. His defence was solid even took some hit ups and still offered good line running on the edges and in and around the ruck that kept the Newcastle defence honest.

It's always hard to look great in a grinding game like yesterday but there were a lot of players who did what was required.

Fair comment Whilst I gave Pearce a 6 for yesterday In all honesty I would have found it hard to give any player on the field higher than a 7 As you said it was a grinding type of game

A couple of picky incidents like that and you give him a 6? C'mon buzz!

As I said I dont think I could have given anyone on the park higher than a 7 yesterday In fact Pearce would have got a 7 from me had it not been for that hail mary pass near halftime

I am understanding you more now thru that post Shandy.

Personally I look at the importance of the game, the opposition, the venue, the way others play in the side, the way the opposition plays etc and combine that with the actual players performance. Then I judge.

That's why in Origin I judge PearceOrfs efforts differently to you.

I'm guessing you are a black and white kinda guy??? Not into your shades???

Not trying to offend you mate, just trying to better understand.

I think you mean Origin 3

I look at all variables In fact I have been told by some I over analyse

In short though if it smells like shit it usually is shit

Yes Origin 3, I forgot the "," before the "I" as it meant "I" not "one". Apologies.

So in other words if it smells like shit it usually is shit is really a way of saying you pre-judge??? Go in with a preconceived opinion, waiting for that to be reinforced???:confused

Using Anal in any context is always dangerous with me, you know that maaaaaaaaaaaaaate. And don't believe the hype there's nothing wrong with a little to much baby.

Pearce was solid, and steered us well given Maloney's shocker. Even came up with some intelligent short kicking when we needed to close the game out, and slowed down the game with a few low kicks into space (some went dead but I reckon that isn't a bad tactic when slowing the tempo of a contest like that). 7.5/10 from mine.

I cant imagine who would say that or why they would think that.

He earned a few key repeat sets, and yesterday's match was exactly the kind of game when they're called for; a tough, grinding match.

Probably the most composed pressure game I can remember from him.
Mitch P is a very good player dont know what was expected of him in origin old tommy ridicolous should hang his head in shame as he played against nevilles in the state games in his time except the one origin game when QLD won and he would have been dropped after that game if a three game series. the only thing he was right about was that horrie was a better half than steve mortimer and peter sterling and should have took his place. The QLD side is virtually the Aussie side and i dont think cronk or thirsty thurston had blinders of games in the series it was a forwards game so best to look at this as being the weakness- cordner should have come on in the the late first half instead of 10 minutes into the second half with all that possession nsw had in the late first half- daley should have been watching roosters games with the pearce and corder combo creating many a try

I like how he iced the game with the forced drop out. That killed off the Knoughts spirits.

I thought Junior was solid. His kicking game was good. With all the stoppages in the game, the game did not flow - No one really starred
