  • Mitch strong again yesterday

I thought he had a great game.

Took some heat off Maloney's indifferent start.

He earned a few key repeat sets, and yesterday's match was exactly the kind of game when they're called for; a tough, grinding match.

Probably the most composed pressure game I can remember from him.

Maybe running the Origin gauntlent has shown Mitch that he can come back from anything. He is playing very confident football.

He's been in much better form than Baloney since Origin 2.

I think he got a repeat set yesterday, should've given some wood.

Looks to be using all the venom directed his way recently as motivation.

When he pulls Cooper Cronk's pants down, I'll give him a Joey.

Personally I thought he was average and there were a few little things which crept back into his game that he must eradicate I would give him a 6 out of 10 for yesterdays game Last week 10 out of 10

The most disturbing thing was that hail mary pass back inside after he had made a 15 metre run which in turn saw Newcastle on ther attack for the final 40 seconds of the 1st half When it should have been us Didnt cost us yesterday but it could in future Finals games are turned on their head byy stuff like that He needsto eradicate these things from his game There were one or two others However I will not go into those as it is bordering on nit picking

What do you expect from a Hooker, they need to make tackles like that.

                  Halfbacks not so much.

I actually thought this thread was going to be out Mitch Aubusson Whom I thought was very good yesterday

                      I agree there Shandy.

It was a Hail Mary and had it come off we'd be blowing him today. But it wasn't probably needed at the time and as you say could've been costly.

I thought in general he steered the ship very very well though yesterday in a real tough pressure game.

In fact I'd rate him higher, cos of the opposition and situation, than last week. But that's just my opinion of course.

He doesn't get threads cos the difference between his very best and very worst is minimal.

He's our rock. Our nowhere man.

If my eyes didnt deceive yesterday he spent some time in the middle, adding another string to his rather large bow.

Noticed this as well re Aubusson, he was running harder and more direct than I've seen him do for a while. Very valuable footballer.

Pearce was solid, and steered us well given Maloney's shocker. Even came up with some intelligent short kicking when we needed to close the game out, and slowed down the game with a few low kicks into space (some went dead but I reckon that isn't a bad tactic when slowing the tempo of a contest like that). 7.5/10 from mine.
