  • Should we re-sign O'Donnell?

This is a very tough decision for the club I reckon.

On the one hand he's been a flat out beast since moving to prop - he's seriously been close to the games form prop the past 5 weeks.

But on the other hand it will stunt the progression of Evans and Napa who by 2014 will be well and truly ready for first grade. Not to mention Liu who was outstanding last night.

With Casty coming and FPN also re-signing, there will only be so many spots in the forwards available.

    Tough, tough decision!

lod is giving great value and service right now but next season hes another year older then we cant expect the same, the french guy and fpn should steup up next season so id only keep lod on the most basic cash if he even wants another year? knwing he mat spoend more time at the blue bags than in rwb?

I say no. He was a stop-gap solution used by robbo in order to prvide the hard-headedness and experience to set the defensive tone for the year. He has done that. Well done.
Assuming he stays, we will have him, JWH, moa, kennedy, casty, fpn, evans, napa and liu all fighting for 5 or 6 spots.
      Something has to give.

I would have kept him over FPN as he seems to have more ticker than Frank I only go hard when the contract is up and I want a new one and MK I just can't get off the tackled player. LOD just seems to be getting better with every game for us and will be a huge asset come the semi finals. But hey that's just my opinion.

This. I don't know what we're paying him but at his age if he'd hang about for 150K or so he'd still be great value off the bench.

Agree with Kegs here... thanks LOD for this season though.

If we have the cap space for next year i say definitely! Then it's up to the coach to pick the best 17! If he is in there then good on him.

There is not much to suggest that Casty will even make our first grade side yet, next season.

But if the price is right for LOD, yes.

LOD is killing it.. hopefully he gets offered 1 year contracts whilst he continues to play well (similar to what Manly did with Galuvao). If the Chooks win the comp player prices will inflate. At the right price a big yes... if it gets inflated nope.

I was against his original signing, and criticised his impact, was told that he had no pre season and that his fitness will come. It has.

Very impressed with his stamina, yards and most importantly controlling his agression which leads to less penalties.

I say yes to next yr, with fpn and mk not having the best consistancy record, i would keep lod, you know what your getting.

always room for a prop with mongrel as long as hes aware he may spend some time in a blue bags jersey?

Send him off with a premiership ring.
Done his job, thanks for your effort.
