i found it strange that they didnt attack merrets wing often, i think they went to him maybe 2-3 times and all of them opened up chances, Instead they hit the other wing and the centre of the field, SHOCKED after origin that no one at the Raiders thought of testing Merrett

They did hit Merritt's wing on a few occasions but this time round Merritt is playing under Maguire's instructions and not Daley's, big difference in class and expertise.

The Raiders are a really erratic side, they hit form for short periods of time but when they do they can beat any side.

Along with the Warriors the Raiders are a side I'll never write off.

i Disagree, They hardly ever went down his side, and when they did Merrett was back peddling and waiting for help or coming in, But they only went down his side a couple times, Daley i think was covering for Merrett, I watched him last night and the few times they went to him he was very suspect, but as i said, they only did it a couple times.

but in all honesty, all of those players you mentioned are average, barring George burgess.
being in a winning team does a helluva lot for your image.
              Agreed...
Nathan Merritt for Souffs vs Nathan Merritt for NSW is a fine example,

I can't agree, Daley has no idea, his selection process and media circus has been a joke, in particular the train off between Reynolds and Sutton. But the real joke was his selection of Merritt in the first place which tells me he is clueless. Even Souths supporters were mystified at his selection, so it makes perfect sense that Daley instructed Merritt to jam in on GI. Merritt hasn't jammed in on any player that I've noticed while playing under Maguire, but for NSW, he did it without thought, it appeared to be automatic, I'm afraid we will not win an SOS series under a sloth of a coach like Daley.

                      Spot on TDK,
This is the bloke that played apart in the selection of some very average wingers as a selector.
Turner, Williams and McManus. Add Merritt and there's 4 blokes who were never good enough to succeed at origin.
Daley is clueless. Morris has done a great job at containing Inglis so why rush up on him. Everytime Qld has scored down that side since Morris has marked him has been because the winger rushes in. It's under 10's stuff. Stay on your winger and trust the bloke inside you

I still remember that second half at Canberra earlier in the year.

The Raiders have pretty much lost their whole backline this year - Dugan, Ferguson, Edrick Lee, Earl. They have no oomph in the backs now. I live down here so have a soft spot for them, if you think it's frustrating being a Roosters fan at times go to the footy with some Raiders mates. Could just film them for 80 minutes and put it on the Comedy Channel. If Bellamy was coaching the Raiders they'd win a comp or two.

I almost felt sorry for them last night but got over it pretty quickly as I've never been a big fan of theirs. I do feel for a guy at work though who is a Raiders fan as we were talking about budgeting our finances over the next few months in order to pay for all those semi-finals we'd be attending...

We should never have lost that.

We lost in Canberra by one goal. Souths got a shitload of help.

Greg "Malcolm Naiden" Inglis is only human. The Burgess brothers are ugly humans.
