I tried to be a sportsman and only played to a certain grade. I wish I was better but I gave it everything I had. I tested myself and I will die knowing that that was the best of my ability.
I've heard plenty of people tell me they were good enough to make FG in this sport or that, followed by an excuse. To be honest, that's not who I am.
Regrettably, Mosoe at this stage of his career will never know how good he ever could be. PErhaps we can see what he can't and perhaps he needs a a strong support group. Who knows.
Sad. I really liked the way he played when he was top of his game. Now I have The Mower as my favourite. He is a bloke who plays above his playing weight. I admire his passion and attitude. A winner IMHO

Some blokes don't have the carnt in them to compete in the NRL. And it usually shows in defence and endurance, not Moses strong points.
Doesn't mean they can't play or are soft.
I reckon he will go well in the UK.
Backwards one of the points you often rant about it the fact that first grade rugby league players are rarely "soft". I agree with this wholeheartedly. Here in Honkers people often ask me if I play when I explain to them this sport that we all love so much. I laugh my arse off. I'm pushing 40 and I will admit it. I am soft. I don't want to get hurt. I don't want to get injured. I also lack skill, talent and motivation. But in any case for some halfwit to suggest on an internet forum that a bloke like Mose Masoe is soft or a cat or whatever is just pathetic.

Mate I was a very average park footballer and have just crossed the 40 mark myself.
When I was a young bloke I was watching a game with my old man, who was a graded player in his day, and made a comment about a player saying he was crap. He shut me down immediately and said you have to be at least a committed individual to be graded and competent and mostly TOUGH.
That is something I never forgot.
I still cringe when I read someone's soft on the forums or in a convo someone says it.
I do believe most don't actually believe it, they just have to comment on things and humans often say shit they don't mean. Usually it's just in frustration.
Often those that call others soft in footy haven't actually played the game at any level. Cos anyone that has wouldn't dare question the physical and mental toughness it takes to play our game.
I get a little pissed off when people say props are soft. It's personal cos its the position I played mostly. And you know it doesn't take a great deal of skill or brains to play in the front row but you need some kahunas cos its a position that requires the knowledge that you have to smash people and turn around and get smashed in return, over and over and over again. You don't get the glory or kudos of the 1/2s or fast backs.
That's why I stick up for MLK and Maubs types. Most don't want to look at the defence side of the game, ironically what we've built the season on. It's just white men can't jump shit. Those that compete for the scraps are treated as lepers.
Truth is without those less flashy players comps don't get won. Look at Melba prime example.
