    I forgot about the 30 metre start...lol
Yeah I remember Nate Myles putting in a big chase that day against Newcastle the same day Waqa made that chase. We still got smashed by about 40 points that day.

So if the Usain Bolt started playing league and made a break and was in the clear, just because GI didn't have lunch he would catch him?

If hunger comes into play then they wont come any quicker than George Rose or Marty Kennedy....they reckon the Great Artie Beetson was pretty quick when the pies were ready.

Johnson not a noted speedster? you don't pay much attention to games outside the roosters do you coggy?

Jennings isnt the fastest in the NRL by a long shot. We've seen him caught from behind quite a few times this season as well. Quick over short distances. But not fast over long.

Hayne came first for the NRL blokes in that race two years ago but many did not race. I do wonder who is the quickest in the NRL though

do agree with this. also think he was tired due to the big load of defence we had undertaken. I mentioned to my brother didnt look like he was running fast as he potentially could have

I've got a theory that Jenko accelerates too quickly when he has to run more than 20-30 yards..

He goes through his gears at the same speed as he would for a short run..

Is Usain Bolt going to play League?

I reckon he would be a handy winger, he's pretty fast. I dont think Johnson would catch him even if he did have his lunch.

                    Can I say Welcome Usain?

Yep we've swapped him with SKD and MK, SKD is going to be a swimmer for the Jamaican team and MK is going into synchronized gymnastics.

It all comes down to physiology.

Jenko is quite short, so while he is lightning over the 30, he just doesnt have the stride length over the 100.
                        Same as Soward.

SJ has quite long legs so im not surprised that he mowed down jenko in the open field.

There's a difference between speed and acceleration.

Then you have freaks like Hayne who have both.

I reckon we should sign this bloke.

Would beat ANY player in the NRL for dead.

he apparently has a slight ankle injury, we'd been defending in our half for most of the first 20 mins and jenko was taking quite a few dummy half runs to get out of our own half...also he reacted pretty slowly to the dropped ball from the warriors player because he didn't have a clear line of sight to the ball (warriors players in front of him)...because of that momentary delay he burnt a lot of energy overcompensating by accelerating a lot quicker than he usually would (he formed a good gap between him and johnson), but then due to the combination of the aforementioned factors he wasn't able to maintain his top speed and hence johnson (who is extremely fast himself, didn't have a ball in his hand and hadn't been doing a whole lot of defence etc.) ran him down. I reckon if you put both of them (fresh and fit, with no ball in the hands) on the 100m track, jennings would win. but not by much...

Johnson has a very natural, sprinters running action. He looks like he's had some sprint training over the course of his sporting life.

I'd back him over 100m over all but 2 or 3 players in the NRL.

And as has already been stated, you can run a lot faster without a ball in hand due to balance.
