I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories (although I came close to doing so in 2010). I have an interest in penalty statistics and the trends that they reveal. It's just an nerdy interest - like stamp collecting.

As for the tooth fairy, my dad is a dentist, so I wasn't brought up with any quasi-religious illusions regarding oral health.

Willie Tonga would be a wise purchase if he came cheap and if we could offload SKD. I know he hasn't set the world on fire at the tadpoles, but who has in their team? He's playing on the outside of Ben Roberts/ Sandow. I would feel sorry for the bloke were he not a qlder.

Matt Keating is another good option. But Friend is playing well and Morts is doing a good job, so we may not need him atm.

Ben Roberts is and will always be a park footballer. Ben Smith is a good tough backrower but has suffered in recent years at parra and we are good in the backrow depth atm.

Actually, I can tell you that the penalty counts this year have been much better for us than normal - unless we play certain teams at certain venues where our discipline suddenly deteriorates and our opponents' suddenly improves 1000%. Another statistical quirk.

And you are right about this penalty problem existing for many years. We have had one of worst penalty differentials virtually every year this century, a problem that has been exacerbated by the fact that even other ill-disciplined teams improve their discipline when they play us (statistically speaking, that is).

It isn't the coaches or players - we've had many, many changes to these in this time period. Do you think it might be something less tangible? Like the "culture" of the place? You know, people put on a red, white and blue jersey and just can't help themselves from being "ill-disciplined" and to give away penalties?

Anyway, I'm glad you've got this all sorted. It's a great relief that it's all our fault.
