The charge down was ok but then he dropped ball as he was regathering it after. If you look closely at the replay it was a clear knock on.

Neither. Have another look. It doesn't matter which way he faces. The ball goes backwards towards his own dead ball line before it bounces. If the initial direction was back, it can then bounce in any direction.
The problem is the commentators and fans don't always know the rules. I used to referee in souths juniors a long time ago. The refs were not great but they got this one right.

"Knock on" was not a knock on - Slater touches it on the 10m line, ball touches the ground at least a metre behind.

Any other fullback in the comp and that is called a knock on. Pure and simple.

Did anyone notice if FPN got hit in that tackle that he played the ball incorrectly? Why I ask is he seems to do this a lot. Is it he is off balance when rising, just trying to get it going to quickly? That set we were rolling forward well and it killed the momentum, anyway he played strong but I have seen him do this quite often, any thoughts?

They were all shit tired and slow the ref didnt help either, it will be a different game with our two starting probs and I would like to see our halves roll the ball on the ground a bit more, try and catch the line when its up by kicking early.

Seriously this was always going to be the BIG one for us and to have to do it without Angry Birds & Moa just made it that bit harder.

No wrist slashing here. Sort of expected it.

Two teams better than us atm. One of them beat us last night....but not by that much in reality.
The other being the Myxo Vermin.

We are getting better & travelling better than I thought we would be at this point in time.

Oh Andy you know me better than that! I've just made a vow to myself not to get worked up when we play Melbourne these days. I've wasted too much time and energy hating that club and all they stand for over the years, that I just have to detach and calm down. Yes, I think there were contentious calls but if you speak to any league fan who follows any club, they will tell you they feel the same about their own team. I think we stood tough and proud but on the field we still were not quite good enough to beat them on the night. If this had been a semi-final, I would have been feeling vastly different and you know me well enough by now to realise this. I'm so proud of how our boys did not drop their heads like they would have in previous years but kept fighting until the end. That's all I can hope for from my team..to do our jersey proud..I can't be bothered worrying about what the refs do or say anymore..I've been going to games for nearly 40 years and I've seen it all..If you are angry about the result of a football match, I'd love to swap lives with you.
