Minichiello up for prestigious NRL award
    Tuesday, September 08, 2009
Anthony Minichiello is the Sydney Roosters Ken Stephen Medal nominee for 2009 in a bid to reward his ongoing community work.

Despite missing 14 rounds of football this season Minichiello failed to let his latest injury setback get the better of him.

Instead the 29-year-old spent days filling the training void by visiting fans of all ages in his own time, unbeknown to the club until recently notified by various sections of the community.

Mini has paid many visits to junior league clubs, schools, hospitals and granted a Starlight Wish for young Joel and the Kiddle family.

The Ken Stephen medal recognises the outstanding contributions of an NRL player in the community over the course of the season.

The Roosters are proud to have a person of Mini’s calibre at the club and also hope that fans alike recognise this great clubman for his continued efforts to make a difference.
