Jared/Roosters have pleaded guilty. He is out for five weeks (what a JOKE!!!). I just hope this doesn't change his mind set because of this very harsh decision that was placed upon him, he has improved his discipline and is playing some of his best footy of his career which started last year and has improved every game. So chin up Jared and come back bigger and stronger which I am sure you will.

The Judiciary has now made an example of Jared by saying no more high shots in the NRL (or is it because of his past reputation), all I can say is the Judiciary will be very busy from here on in with at least three players will now be sent from the field each round for high shots. It's a bloody DISCRACE!!!!

Take care Jared and keep the faith.

    GO YOU MIGHTY ROOSTERS!!!

Sydney Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves cops five week ban for high shot against Manly
    By staff writers
    FOX SPORTS May 15, 2013 11:57AM

Sydney Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has accepted a five-week suspension for his head-high tackle on Manly forward George Rose after taking the early guilty plea.

The match review committee charged the Kiwi Test prop with a reckless high tackle grade one, his poor record escalating the suspension.

Waerea-Hargreaves became the first NRL player sent off for the season after making direct contact with Rose's head.

The Roosters were down to 12 men for the final 11 minutes of the game but recorded a courageous 16-4 win over the Sea Eagles at Brookvale.

Waerea-Hargreaves's three previous infringements include a grade three careless high tackle on Paul Gallen in 2011 and two separate grade one careless high tackles on Cronulla duo Ben Ross and Jeff Robson in the same game last season.

Roosters hooker Jake Friend was also charged with a grade one careless high tackle on Manly forward Brent Kite, but is free to play against North Queensland Cowboys this weekend.

The system needs to be looked at and each tackle judged on it's own without this loading rubbish he's doing more time for the loading than the tackle if I understand it correctly.

Regardless of the fairness of the penalty, I'd still rather have an enforcer in our team that sails close to the wind than a forward pack that can be walked over.

It will be interesting to see who steps up in performance to fill the void that JWH leaves.

LOD and FPN can both play the role of enforcer and forward leader. They are both very tough men when they want to be. For me, the next 5 weeks will determine their value to the club. If FPN steps up, I would sign him up for next year. If not - see ya later. Not sure if LOD will be around next year either. The next 5 weeks will show his intent and desire.

The fairness of this "loading" system needs review.

Thats what caused this harsher than reasonable penalty to be applied.

I've quite liked the way LOD has been warming his way back into the NRL, he was definitely miles off the pace in his first couple of games, but he has been making steady progress & the next 5 weeks will be a huge test for him to see if he has still got it. I wouldn't mind seeing him start against the Cowgirls, take it right up to Scott & Tamou early & see if he can get them on the back foot!

We are going to feel his loss big time , no doubt his been consistently within our top 2 performers each week, and gets us on the front foot, gonna mis watching him bend that defence back

Ironically he is back for the Eagles game.

Cowboys, Storm, Eels, Warriors, Dogs. 4 of which we will really miss him for. Time for our depth to step up.

Wait and see that by the time JWH is back in 6 weeks, the ref's will be back to letting the high shots go by unpunished.
Unfortunate for Jared that it's just topical atm because of GI being dropped on his head, if the players are smart all they need to do is tread carefully for the next 3 or 4 weeks, let the brew ha die down, then we'll see players getting away with high shots and dangerous tackles once again.
I truly hope our clubs raises a very loud protest for the rest of the season every time a player from a rival club is not punished for similar acts that Jared has been made an example of !
