  • Boyd Cordner said something interesting

    Hi friends,

When Boyd Cordner was being interviewed last night at the man of the match presentation he said an interesting quote that perfectly illustrates the mentality of this club which has been missing for nearly a decade. He said:

"We came here looking for a fight"

Trent "Robbo" Robinson has our team fearing nobody and no venue and the players have bought in to this philosophy. The signings and players released have reflected this philosophy and we have played this way since our lesson in round 1.

This is a very special team we are witnessing.

I liked how when asked about the upcoming game if it were going to be a bash and barge affair at the pre match interview that Trent said he hoped so.

Seemed a bit excited about it too lol

so there is no problem about him getting us up for any occasion it seems. He does not seem intimidated by whats in front of him whereas smithy seemed to want to bumble his way under the carpet most of the time

Just bring in tasi or someone big to replace jwh. He cant be replaced really but im sure liu would do ok.

I agree not to change a winning side but Skidoo is starting to look very out of place alongside his teammates as they have gone to new levels. I was and still am hoping the more he plays in this team (as close to SBW as possible on and off the field) that he will improve.

Yes he did do extra ordinary things last night but so did Jennings without the rocks. No room for rocks and diamonds in first grade. Its not about the dropped ball his defense can be atrocious at least 50% of the time. At one stage he was running with manly in their line (lol the memory cracks me up) letting sheck and someone else cover his tackle with his back to the manly player. Yes its better than rushing out of the line but he has to be more effective than that at this level.

Its in his head, Skidoo has no problem with skills, just get him matured so im not reaching for the blood pressure meds when he gets the ball.

    Go Chooks!

      I really do love Cordner.

He does drop the ball - but by God, I do not care if he drops it once or twice a game, he hits like a brick wall and you will rarely see him on his back in a tackle, always pokes through the line and lands on his front for a quick play the ball.

I'd be more worried if we lost Cordner than JWH - I mean I love JWH too, but Cords is another league.

He is courageous as all hell... I swear if I could meet any member of the team and shake their hand it would be him.

After the misery expressed in the Chookpen for the past few years, I am finding all this Rooster love overwhelming. I think I'm going to cry.

Don't cry 66 - think of the positives; no more Anasta, Smith, Leilua, Elliott, Smith's son, Noyce, Mason, Kouparidiot, O'Meley, did I mention Anasta? Sorry, they were the negatives.

Here's the positives; new coaching staff, talent and depth in the roster, sitting 2nd on the ladder with the best for and against, a good fixture, good attitude from the players and The Chookpenners.

Admittedly, over the past few years it has been good to vent once in a while
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".
