Is the 2013 side when you compare it to 2010 and yet in 2010 we made the GF. Anyone who claims that this Easts side can't win the premiership have absolutely nOFI. We were in 3rd gear yesterday and we still won 30-6. We have a very special team this year and we also have a Gibsonesque coach, the sky's the limit. On paper our side is better than most and on the field they could be better than all, souffs are lucky they played us in rd1.

I agree Souffs got us on an off day, I can't wait to play them again, but I really need to see how our defence holds up against Manly & the Storm. The majority if not all of the tries scored against us this season have come from kicks, which are always going to be somewhat of a lottery, like the one yesterday. Cronk & Smith and DCE & Foran (& even Ballin) are all expert exponents of getting repeat sets from kicks & creating scoring opportunities from kicks as well. We will need to be extra desperate to keep these out & to clear our in goal to avoid repeat sets, if we have had a weakness this season it has been defending against the kick & we haven't really been tested, apart from by Souffs' Reynolds. So I am really looking forward to Robbo getting them up against these teams in that regard, Thurston for the Cows also isn't bad in this area!

Yeah the 2013 side would smash the 2010 model. On paper it was actually a staggering achievement for that team to make it all the way to the GF. And had the refs not pre-ordained the Dragqueens as champs in the most lopsided reffing performance in some 50 years then who knows what would have happened...

But ive gone off topic. This team is so much more well rounded. The development of JWH and Friend since 2010 has been outstanding and they're now two of our five most important players.I believe we're one world class prop (Evans, Tasi developing?) off being the complete football side.

Great points coggy. Plus in 2010 we had Anasta, Perrett, BJ and SKD. This year we have Maloney, SBW, Jennings and SKD (oh!!!).

I found it interesting the way SBW was shaking hands and speaking with the Pamfers players, especially the younger guys. They were hanging off his every word. He didnt brush them off either, like it was his duty to shake their hands. That was the first time I'd seen the two teams talk to each other as much as they did. Maybe it happens after every game, I dunno, but it looked good yesterday.
