  • Toops

Thought he came of age yesterday.

Realised his physicality and starting to dominate those aerial challenges as he can.

    Watch the confidence soar now.

Yes, great to see him as confident in the top grade as he was at Newtown last year.

My concern at the moment is the lack of ball for RTS. Yes he can come in and look for it and his dummy half runs are good but most of the opportunities go to Toops side of the field.

While SKD is getting a bit better I would like to see RTS inside him a bit during the game. Obviously RTS is not getting a go at FB but he is the sort of player that needs his hands on the ball.

You're not going to get much quality ball outside Skd. RTS has impressed with the limited opportunities. SBW will need to do more of those cut out passes. Good to see Toups utilize his size. He's 195cm 100kg with good speed, so he should cause havoc

I think this is a positive not a negative. To think one of our great attacking weapons is barely seeing the ball yet we are stil putting 30+ on sides regularly makes you think what we can do once he starts injecting himself

Agreed. The only thing (apart from ball security) that I think he needs to change is his running style. Imo, sometimes he runs too upright and because he is so tall, he gets bent over. He needs to bend his back a bit more at least when he hits the line so he doesnt just get pushed straight over like a rake

Top game from toops. Harder running, used his height in the air and cut the errors out. In past games when he makes errors, it seems to play on his confidence. He needs to learn to play like he did yesterday even when he drops the odd ball. I see a bit of Vatuvai in him - hopefully he is more consistent and mentally tough.

Given the current climate and investigations Roz...I hope he doesn't start injecting himself tbh...

Tupou has a much more poweful running game. I think RTS was recieving less ball due to SBW's limited time on field. He's just a baby now, imagine him in 3 years

On RTS I think you will find some subtle possie swaps with him and Mini during games as the season unfolds. Then we will see more...

Toops will gain confidence and experience over time. When he finally realises how big he is, you will see more performances like yesterday where he takes the line on and bumps off defenders. He was tentative when running at the line in the first few rounds, often slowed down on impact

Toups started playing less like the overhyped wingers weve had in the past and more like Israel folou. I certainly hope this continues, he has his whole footballing career ahead of him.
how 'blessed' are we to have the next greg inglis in moga and the next folou in tupou.
does that make rts the next slater, cordner the next gallen and friend the next cam smith?

And we have Sonny Bill, who has no predecessor.

indeed. When SBW left the code, everyone was talking about finding the next Sonny Bill. How crazy is it now we actually have him?
