  • Minichiello

Fantastic display today by the Chooks.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I feel as a member we need to give this guy a BREAK.

There is no doubt that Mini is past his "prime" but the nature of the salary cap dictates that you can't have the best player at every position on one team even if some people dream up these fantastical team line-ups. Minichiello is doing a very solid job at the number 1 and people need to think of the ramifications of buying/filling his number one jersey .... By Minichiello taking contributing less to our salary cap it surely has allowed us to spend cash on key positions like we have in 2013. Yes, definitely there are better numbers ones out there and RTS is a prime candidate for the future but I think people underestimate the influence Mini has on the squad in games and "In Training" etc.

Mini is an Easts Legend and I have been extremely impressed by his play and leadership this season. I hope he and the squad continue towards the 2013 Premiership!

Got in the way a few times today but other than that I can't complain.

Still, you know we're not getting far when he's carting the ball back.

Had a good game IMO & needs to play like that more often than not.

Agreed, his return metres are not what they used to be but defensively, apart from the Raiders game, he has been very solid, can't expect more ....

One of our best ever and it would be great to see him bow out with another championship under his belt.

His experience must be invaluable around the camp to some of the young guns.

All winning teams have had these type of players.

I'm lost... he had a great game, scored a good try and made some excellent defensive moves under the pump.

Did we watch the same game? I think I was at Allianz...

He did have a good game tbh. One thing you can count(no pun intended) on with the moth, is that he has played big games and rarely does he let you down experience wise in these sort of circumstances.

I thought toops had his best game in our colours. I know that he has previously scored a hatrick in a game, but this match he looked more lethal than ever.

Jennings is faster than a bullet, dead set. How he scored that try off the Friend grubber is beyond belief. He's so fast, if you took him to a racing track and raced him against Leilua or Perret, he would finish his second lap before those two finish their first lap.
              Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Whats important is his defensive game. So he dont make the yards he used to but he is still safe,

The strange thing is the sheep on here who follow the leader and criticise him when there is little reason to do so.

He busts a gut every week and brings much needed experience to the team.

This...will hold back on the beer induced tirade I was about to unleash on the sheep.

Compared to nightingale, mini was brilliant. I've never seen worse positional play from a fullback than that of nightingale today.

Despite losing his spark, you would show any young fullback videos of minis positional play and catching of bombs. These parts of minis games are still spot on.

No matter how he goes, Mini is a club legend and should always be respected.

Tempting, but no....too much of that absolute rubbish goes on here already.

Would rather just enjoy what's happening this season and nod knowingly every time the great man does his thing.
