400k is nothing for this bloke considerin kenny is on 350k, the guy is a superstar. Why wouldnt have dragons spent that on him instead of 600k for widdop.

The same bloke that complained about clubs freezing him out, now has a scoop about us chasing a player.

His motives are so transparent. He manages to have a dig at the usual suspects yet again.

Honestly, it's almost hilarious that the two worst 'journalists' in the southern hemisphere manage to work for the same rag.

You're right it's 8 years of continued service but it includes under 20's and reserve grade.

So Pearce qualifies next year so will SKD and Maubs if they are here.

You are not right regarding the long serving player allowance. It is available for any players who have played eight straight seasons at under 20s level or above. Consequently any of our players who played Under 20s/NSW Cup/NRL in 2006 or earlier (Pearce, Kenny-Dowall, Aubusson and Nu'uausala) that are with us in 2014 will allow us to claim the additional $200,000 long serving player allowance.

Is the long serving player allowance 200k for one club, distributed through how many ever long serving players the club has?

Or 200k for Each?. I think with the new Salary Cap the NRL should increase the LSPA. 200k in today's climate is not that much.

                          Thanks mate.

Would be great to know how they manage that after Mini retires. Possibly split between two players (Maubs & Pearce) to give us a spare 200k.

If the NRL increase this to 500k it gives clubs greater options to keep developed players.

That's right but I thought it was $300k now.

Either way we can put it to good use next year.

When I see him running out in the tri-colors I'll believe Sam Tomkins is coming here.
