  • Why we lost last week vs Canberra

We got smashed up front , its simple as that , turning point was that hit shillo put on moa , our forwards dropped there nuts after that , not 1 of them ran 100 meters including sbw ,you all bone on about jwh but the bottom line is he made 35 tackles but virtually 60 running meters nt enough for a top nrl prop , or moa or sbw or maubs or boyd or freindy , we coulnt defend a set in the 2nd half our defense around the ruck went to shit , possession stakes went lop sided and we lost feild positon when we had the ball , canberra completed 16/16 sets the perfect half of footy , backs dont win you games forwards do , thats why they are called forwards to GO forward we didnt , backs win games with good front foot ball not slow dominated ball , blame our forwards not our backs they are the ones that got dominated

Why we lost last week vs Canberra?

Cause they scored more points than us.

Agree that our mtrs gained was very average. Need at least two of our forwards getting 130+ per game.

The big win against Parra didn't help. They thought they were invincible after that.
Hopefully they have been brought back to planet Earth & get on with the job.

100% nothing like a loss to kick start the engine again , full credit to the raiders more hungry for the 2 points

As a fan who attended the Raiders setup a fortress. The green machine song kept playing, lots of passionate fans showed up and they played good footy.

In the first 20 of each half we got no ball (entirely due to our own mistakes.)

Sounds simple but they wanted the points, the fans wanted the points and we didn't play well enough to get them.

They had quite a bit of punch off the bench in TLL. He gave them a lot of forward momentum and smashed the line on every occasion.

I think that one of JWH or Moa need to be on the park at any time of the game. This was why I suggested that last week that Moa should maybe go to bench and we should perhaps have Kennedy or Liu starting.

Kane Evans needs to make his debut sooner rather than later. Evans and also Napa were killing it in the 20's last year. I remember one of them in a game last year made close to 200m. Granted it's only the U20's, I still think that's a huge effort. They also have a good work rate and make a lot of tackle. Poor JWH last game had to make over 30 tackles. This maybe why he didn't make as many metres as he usually does.

I think that Robbo is trying to get Napa to fill the Lock void left by FPN. In the last few weeks he has been named to play in a tight lock position for Newtown. He may be a huge find because of Napa and Evans, Napa has a higher workrate and plays longer minutes.
          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

I agree, its so obvious how much we lose when JWH and Moa go off within minutes of each other. I actually think that JWH off the bench comes on after 20mins ala James Graham at Bulldogs last year and play out the game from there. How good were JWH's offloads in later minutes when the numbers in tackles become less consistent.

There were a lot of factors in the stats being skewed last week. Lopsided possession in 2nd half, Cordner injured, Mortimer not being used. I, like others don't see the point of carrying Mortimer against big teams. Because the only time you can bring Mortimer on is when we have the ascendency (momentum). He isn't player who can change or stop the ascendency. If Robo had access to Lama/Evans instead of Mortimer the other night I strongly believe that maybe we get away with it.
