  • Moga's injury status

anyone heard anything about how Moga is tracking in his return from a knee reconstruction, noticed during the week that we now have no players on our injury list on the clubs website(not that it means much), also have seen quite a few video's/photos showing Moga stretching out at training with no strapping on his repaired knee which is highly unusual this early in his recovery.

he is looking extremely fit for someone only 5 months post operation.

below is the link to the latest batch of training photos.

Moga and Jennings are going to be a lethal combo in the centeres.

He'll probably play on the wing.

I would guess Fletch that Moga will be playing for Newtown sometime in April. At the moment he most likely is fine running in straight lines but has to take it easy with his lateral movement.

In pic 11 I hope that Morts didn't lose a finger up there!

          Fletch,

He's good to go. He's having a break o/s freshening up.
Not sure if Trent will resume Moga thru NSW Cup or U20's.

Gman you would think it would be best for him to come back with Newtown, even if it is from the bench to begin with. He needs to play against men so that he can be ready for 1st grade sooner.

I'd probably start him off in the 20's. Let him dominate against some kids again, get his confidence back and a bitch of match fitness then move him up to NSW Cup.

Exactly.. He has to be eased in. Let him get his confidence up in the 20's first. No need to rush him.

                    Big O,

I agree with others on here who reckon Moga should come back thru the U20's.
Regaining one's self confidence after being out for a while is paramount IMO and the necessary ingredient in cracking 1st grade again.

Fair enough if he is to come back through the u20's just to gain that initial confidence, but I wouldn't leave him there for more than say 2 games as it would start to become a waste as he is not learning anything.

Gman, thanks for the update, do you know the exact nature of the knee injury because there is no way he would be right to go if he had a traditional full knee reconstruction, some have been suggesting it was only a partial tear.

will be very interesting how he handles the mental aspects of his comeback, as someone that has had several serious knee injuries it is very hard to get the idea of re-injury out of your mind.

interesting the club is letting him re-charge the batteries overseas before continuing his comeback.

hopefully they do not rush him until he is mentally ready to return, agree with sentiments that he should return via NYC to regain confidence.

but wouldn't that defeat the purpose in a way?
many people on here think that the reason he was so lazy in first grade was because he was used to beating the kiddies.
I say put him in reggies for as long as it takes him to warrant a place in fg. whether that be 3 weeks or 3 months.
