i presumed the idea of playing SBW tight was to protect the inside shoulder step if he was wide, ie give him time to adjust to the speed of the game before we let him loose. He made a couple of very crucial, 1 on 1, tackles on Souffs inside-outside plays early in the second half. I liked his size and strength there and his ability to roll over the player to gain control and, if not, at least a solid marker position. Maybe Trent has worked out who can defend the middle and is waiting until everyone if fit until he lets SBW play a little wider

So Brain, What you are saying is that Maubs is the new ricko...... Always dies with the ball and kills the attack for the centre/winger???

      Delecto Oriens est odio Meridianus
To love Easts is to hate Souffs

I dont see what the point is in bringing up mini, he is the captain and there is no chance on earth he will be dropped, a shift to the wing is possible but discussing him being droppeds is like a dog chasing his tail.

I disagree. At least maubs can break the line. Great hole runner and fend. Usually his line breaks lead to tries or at minimum set up his outside or inside players. Ricko was a better defender though.

I though maubs was oneof the better players on thursday night.
