JWH + SAM MOA .... Finally a solid forward pairing.

Considering half of our support base is already calling for blood and for people to be dropped even though it was our 1st game together against a team who has played together for 2 seasons I thought I would throw in what I thought was our biggest positives for the night.

JWH and Sam Moa ..... I thought JWH was damaging and stronger than last season. Sam Moa carted it up all night and was making at least 8m a hit up at worst. TBH Kennedy was the worst of the forwards.

I also think that we have some great fringe running forwards except up the middle they need to get in and get involved instead of waiting outwide for the ball to come to them.

All in all. I was happy with glimpses of our game. Nothing like last year at all. Give the team a few weeks to gel and it will come together.

I would just like some more leg drive from Moa. He hits the defensive line and then goes straight down for the defenders to fall straight on his back and slow the play the ball!

He should be promoting a fabric softener or something like that.

Has heart and is willing and is good backup but no match for the likes of Souths, Dogs and Cowboys forwards who are giants, they end up man handling smaller forwards. We need to bring Evans or Napia, throw them in the deep end, I watched both of them up against G Burgess last season and they were seriously at his level.

Don't think Friend is an 80 minute player either....when he gets tired, that's when he does dumb shit. Around 30 minutes per half should be his maximum.

FPN was blowing out of his @rse after about 20 minutes the other night.....he should start on the bench until he's fitter. Maybe it was the pace of the game, maybe because we were giving away penalties, but either way - it wasn't a good look.

I'd probably start with O'donnell at lock and bring FPN off the bench. His ball playing will be a lot more effective against a tiring defensive line and he still gives us a few good hit ups when JWH & Moa go off although I think that rotation needs to be better managed... e.g

JWH - First 30 minutes
Moa - First 20, rests for 10 & replaces Jared after 30.
