Maybe he would handle it there In saying that though the only one who should be made accountable for his performance last night is RTS himself It really defies common sense to drop someone else to accomodate a position for another player who had a shocker the game before

The problem is that RTS is not a Winger and has never been a Winger and we are playing him out of position to accommodate the worst fullback in the NRL. As long as we play him out of position he is always going to struggle.

as expected it all comes down to mini, mini hogging the fullback spot stops us playing a dangerous fullback in our spine, stops us shoring up our defence with a real winger, perhaps robbo might start resting mini during games, moving rts to fullback as he did in the manly trial, worked a treat then, mini might finally see the penny drop? as it is hes the captain and all rosy?

No you have it all wrong. Mini tries really hard and is a club legend we can't question him. Even if he hasn't made a line break in 7 years.

Do you need to go to university to become a winger. I really don't think it is that hard. Listen to what your coach is saying.

He has hardly played the game. He showed last night defensively he is not a 1st grade winger The answer is simple play him in his so called position Whether that be fullback or centre or 5/8 is still up for debate as he has limited Rugby League experience But until one of the players in those positions has a terrible game in the magnitude that Sheck had last night Then people should not be dropped so to accomodate him in the team

Having watched the replay I would not be opposed to SKD being punted with Sheck being in the centres Watching them defend together on that side of the field was quite frightening and it was a replay

Defensively Robinson and the team have a big problem there

Don't panic with RTS he is loaded with talent and needs to be in the top squad somewhere....he will learn whatever is required. Not a long term winger though.

And Oldfield was poor in two trials.

What they should do is as soon as the see a team setting up a backline play, the defensive line should all together slide the D line to that side to anticipate the play,,, how hard can it be!!

He was the worst on the field against souffs, 4 of the 5 Souths tries were on his wing where he was stuck in no mans land plus his attempt to score that try (from the in goal grubber) was embarrassing, a very Perrett like game.

Is one good game in eight good enough? He needs to lift his game otherwise Oldfield should take his spot.
I realise that some on here are quite selective with how they view Perrett but if anything, Perrett was experienced enough to stay on his man. I can remember a lot of carry on about him turning to stay with the opposing winger when faced with a 2 on 1. Perrett is a competent, experienced first grader. He is playing first grade with last year's Grand Finalists. He is a former international. Yes, we have POTENTIALLY better wingers now.

RTS is a novice. He is learning. You could be right about Oldfield though.

After watching a replay of the game I'm amazed with the amount of people calling for SKD to be sacked. If he compare the other night to about 90% of games he played last year he was a lot better defensively. And this was against the current most dangerous player in the world. He was without doubt to play for the last try in the corner where he rushed up on Inglis when Pearce had easily slid well enough to cover him. Other than that and getting run over from a kick return by Inglis he shut down the play with good tackles multiple times and looks to have slightly improved his tackling technique. In attack he was pretty non-existant and dropped two poor passes but that was with no possession or field position for most of the game. Our attack took some poor options at important times but i thought when JWH and Moa were on and we were matching Souths forwards our offence looked far better, in particular on the fringes. At those times Pearce and Maloney both showed improved games from last season. Lets face it two Souths tries came from tapped back bombs that landed 20 in away from our jumpers and two were from very poor individual reads that would not have otherwise been tries. Sheck will learn quickly from this shocker. And he'll know he has to because he won't be moved to fullback due to poor performances on the wing. Feel sorry for the kid cos across 160 trial minutes he played 90 minutes at fullback 30 at centre and only 40 on the wing where he was always going to play. He probably trained most of the off season at fullback too. But from all accounts he's a very smart kid and a quick learner so he'll get much better. Give us 6 or 7 rounds and i think the combinations will be sorted, the timing will be there, SBW will understand his role and be back up to speed with league (thought he was very solid other than a couple of silly penalties anyway), Cordner will add that extra go forward that we lack when we start with Guerra and Maubs, Tasi or Evans will give us a second prop to help Kennedy out, Arona doesn't offer enough as a prop, and hopefully all this leads to less piggy back penalties which kill us every game. Certainly much better signs than last year imo. If we play that Souths team last year we get 50 put on us easily and they wouldn't have needed to kick for their 2nd and 3rd tries either.

Agree, Mini has been a legend & he did not have a bad game, but RTS looked lost in defence & he can be a legend of a fullback, lets see how long it takes for the Chooks to realise that?
