No meaningful analysis will come from me this evening other than that Kennedy was the softest bloke on the field today and will have a very hard time holding his spot in the coming weeks and months.

Also I'm struggling to remember the last time Mini has caught a crash ball close to the defensive line. It deadset seems as if he has dropped them all the last two years.

How is Morts' fault he wasn't given a chance until the game was over?

Pearce v Reynolds was like watching Ben Jones v Thurston.

in a nutshell the referees managed to completly stuff up what could have been a very good game of football but was constricted continually at crucial times, to me this influence on the game result is as bad for the game as peptides! about time a number of refs were offered 6 months off?id one was a cynic then one may consider links to organised crime, betting and match fixing by referees?

            - Pearce showed glimpses of mass improvement. Found space with all his kicks just didnt have enough ball/opportunities.
            - JWH is in for a massive year - he was immense. Moa was also very strong and will prove more than handy
            - Jennings is electric.
            - If RTS was better defensively, it could have been a different ball game but he is worth persisting with
hahahh kenny dope has inproved his tackling technique
go watch his effort on inglis when inglis was on the floor the idiot tried to bundle him into touch and just jumper over him
what a idiot this bloke is

Tupou - 6/10, not much involvement but looked good in possession when he did get it.

Jennings - 8/10, needed to give him more ball, he gave Champion a bath 4/5 times we went his way. Bombed a try, but still worthy of an 8.

SKD - 2/10, Shaun Kenny Dumb turned up today, after being controlled and dominating in defence during the Foundation Cup he returned to his brain explosive best tonight, he panicked EVERY time Souths went his way, running out of the line, rushing in at STUPID angles, so so frustrating.

RTS - 4/10, some nice touches in possession, earned our only penalty in the first 60 minutes of the game with a half break. Had no confidence in SKD so was caught out time after time leading to his opposing winger picking up a hat-trick, not good. I want to see him at fullback and soon.

Maloney - 6/10, not much involvement but solid when he was, his 1 on 1 defence is shocking, always gets dominated and dragged along when he's forced to make one.

Pearce - 6/10, looked on fire at the start, sharp, quick flat passing at the line to both sides of the ruck, became more and more ineffective as the penalties starting mounting up against us.

JWH - 8/10, he looked really good, harshly penalised for not being square when he was.

Friend - 7/10, really solid game, very sharp at the start of the match but as fatigue sent in became ineffective, harshly penalised for a strip which clearly was not one.

Moa - 7/10, I thought he was good, he did look small out there though.

Guerra - 6/10, solid but didn't receive enough ball in good positions, a shocking penalty against him for holding the ball when Sam Burgess CLEARLY pinned his arm down, Guerra was furious at this penalty and rightly so. His defence was down on his standard, some sloppy effort.

Aubusson - 7/10, good match from Maubs, tried very hard to cover SKD's arse but boy oh boy what a challenge that is. Made a nice break but SKD was asleep in the background and missed out on a certain and easy try if he was supporting properly.

FPN - 4/10, what a frustrating player this guy is. His first stint was a disgrace, FPN thought he was a half-back, half-running to the line and popping high risk passes, so, so frustrating after the rampaging hit-ups from the second half of the Foundation Cup.

Mortimer - NA/10, didn't do much, hard to rate.

Kennedy - 4/10, ugh. Give Napa a run.

SBW - 6/10, a really solid first showing from SBW, good signs from him IMO. He did a lot of tackling and ran some smart lines, will only get better.

Arona - 3/10, a genuine reserve grader, would have preferred Napa.
6/10 for Guerra are you for real this bloke deserves a 1/10 the bloke missed tackle after friggen tackle in the first half, dropped the ball and gave away a crutial penalty that lead to the first try

Pretty fair assessment ELO, one area that you highlighted was the penalty situations (friend & guerra) if we can see these " misconceptions " why can't the Refs they are momentum changes.
Just one criticism of your critic - Freind gets 7 for effort but only 4 for Pass/play direction from dummy half. If only he would take alook at the opposition and play to our strengths , the whole situation would change.

The try under the posts by the Soufs forward was one of the weakest I've seen.
                    Disgrace!

I've rated Friend high based on the first 20 minutes where if you watch his passing out of dummy half it was Cameron Smith on the advantage line good, our forwards were rolling in that first quarter of the match. He did fall away but we were penalised out of the match and he was forced to do a lot of defence, should have come off for a stint late in the first half.

I thought that for a supposed weak defender, Maloney had a monster game in D with Teo running at him all game.

A good question to ask is why is G Burgess allowed to go one on one with a hooker in the middle of the field that close to the tryline? Where were our pigs?

Good call. Maloney tackled very well, so did Jennings.

I didnt say he was strong in defence, I said he has improved his technique and used his shoulder a couple of times to tackle in a more orthodox manner. Watch the game back and you will see what I mean

Overall a pretty poor game, we were dominated by a much better team. I dont think we were terrible, but we didnt really do anything that looked like competing.

Mini - thought he was one of our best. Wasnt brilliant but had safe hands. He took a few good grubbers and bombs and looked like he kept up with the game.

Wing - Tupou barely saw any ball...cant believe how tall he is! RTS was terrible in defence (not helped by SKD), we need to see more from him in attack. He showed a few glimpes of his twinkle toes in the 2nd half.

Centres - SKD was terrible, it was as if he didnt know how to defend. Jennings was our best on field, he was always dangerous and although he bombed a try he created more chances than anyone else.

Halves - Very soft, they need to learn to apply pressure and get repeat sets. Both need to take more leadership and really control the team on the field.

Props - Thought Moa and JWH had some decent runs.

Backrow - Personally I think this is where we lost it...Maubs, FPN & Guerra were terrible. Barely saw them all night. We really need cordner and LOD to come back in the side.

Bench - Kennedy was soft. SBW was shut down very well and seemed almost scared to take hitups. Mortimer provided some good enthusiasm with the limited time he had.
