that we can be a premiership force with this current batch of players really have no idea. I wouldn't care if our coaching staff was Jack Gibson, Wayne Bennett and Phil Gould! There is no way that we'll ever be anything other than a lower table rank with this mob. So far we have Carney, Conn, the bloke from the Cowboys and the kid from Manly. I hope they all turn out to be champs because otherwise we're in trouble. Last night was just another example of why FPN, Morbs, Freind, SKD, Hauraki etc etc are just not good enough, ad to that Fitzy and Mini who's best are far gone and it's no wonder
why we are where we are. As I said I really hope the new buys turn out to be good otherwise 2010 will be just as bad. One thing I'm really happy about is that huge slug Soliola won't be around anymore.

Who have we signed from Cowboys?

These same players got us into the top 4 last year - the only major loss from last year to this year is Anthony Tupou (Ben Jones had to fill in as the utility in place of the injured Riley Brown and James Aubusson).

The issue is that this year, lots of these players turned up with a different attitude that has been the downfall of our team.

I really think that if you threw Sam Perrett, Mitch Aubusson, FP Nuuausala, or Jake Friend into the Dragons or Bulldogs line-up, they would flourish as players. Nuuausala is twice the player that Mickey Paea is, yet Bennett used Paea properly and he was outstanding.

I want to see these players under good coaching, and with the right mindset, before we shoot them down in flames first. O'Sullivan re-signed plenty of these blokes on long-term contracts for a reason, so they are all we can have hope for.

We are going to struggle next year thats for sure coggy,the club left the kid with the keys to the lolly cabinet and look what happen.........we have nothing.Brian Smith would have to be Jesus,only then could he work a miracle with the shit .We had first dibs on Daniel Anderson,only to have blind loyalty rob us of a very decent coach,gutted...........gutted........worse than the back to back GF losses.

Although, like I said before, I think we do need a centre who can score tries without demanding a huge sum of $$$.

Someone like:

- Phil Graham (off-contract)
- Ty Williams (off-contract)
- Brad Tighe (signed until 2010)
- Joel Reddy (signed until 2011)
- Beau Champion (signed until 2011)
- Ash Graham (signed until 2012)
- Jerome Ropati (signed until 2012)

These sort of players have a fair amount of first grade experience (our club would probably destroy a young talent like Matt Wright, Chase Stanley, Esi Tonga, Jarrod Croker, Justin Carney or Jamal Idris), they can find the tryline, they actually have some pace (unlike Junior Sau, Brett Delaney, Ben Pomeroy, Ben Harris or Ben Smith), and wouldn't cost anywhere near the amount a marquee centre like Folau, Inglis, Tate, Inu, Jennings, Lawrence, Matai, Tonga, Cooper, Lyon or Morris would.
