  • Fitzy mustnt be a good bloke after all....

because if the players are doing it for Fitzy....like they said they were the last few rounds then they must hate him with the tripe they are dishing up. Worst Chooks side I have ever seen.

If I was Smith, from the FG side that played tonite the only players I would keep are Perrett, Maubs, Mini, Pearce, FPN, Friend, Myles and Fitzy. The rest would be playing for Newtown next year. I seriously hope Smith brings a couple of players with him so we can cut some of this shite from our team.

It does look rather blatant that no one at the club gives a shit he is leaving......fark this mob is pathetic.

        Agreed entirely.

SKD and Jones, much like Sa, need to spend some time playing for Jets (or in Jones' case, the U20's team). They are clearly talented players but are still making far too many basic errors in both attack and defense.

Deeb, Waqa, Hauraki...well, they aren't the most talented mob clearly, and you can probably throw in Rohan Ahern and Ray Moujalli with that group too. They try hard, but I don't think that any are really long-term potential players. I don't think we expect much more from them then what they are giving though.

Brown, Shackleton, Soliola and Mason were the most frustrating tonight. Shackleton, Brown and Mason played little minutes, and did SFA in their time on the field, which is particularly bad for Mason considering the $$$ we spend on him, and the players we had to cut to sign him up. Soliola had a better game by his standards, but really is a pretty average player. We needed him as a centre, he didn't aim up.

I would hope that at the start of next season, we could either try Sandor Earl (at least he has has experience) or young Fine Moeakiola on the wing at the beginning of the season, and force SKD to work for his spot. If Sa remains, I would hope he begins the season playing for Jets to earn his spot again as well, and Jones, while clearly skillful and fast, needs to be sent back to the lower grades until he learns some basic defensive skills.

I would also bench Mason, if he happens to still be around, and let him know that if he doesn't aim up, he will be cut.

        Maybe:

        Minichiello
        Perrett
        M Aubusson
        (not sure)
        Moeakiola/Earl
        Carney
        Pearce
        Paea
        Friend
        Myles
        Cherrington
        Conn
        Anasta

        J Aubusson
        Symonds
        Mason
        Nuuausala

        ...the centres remain an issue.

Deeb and Moujalli got a combined 25 min of first grade. How can you judge them based on that ? They haven't trained with first grade at all, get called up last minute, get sub'd when we are 20+ down and are generally getting outmuscled. What are they expected to do ? I'd take these two over FPN,Paea and especially Waqa because at the end of the day i'm more confident that they will not **** up a simple play of the ball and they will not gas out after two hit-ups. They will also play harder because while they were coming up they didn't have dipshits in their ear saying they are the next big thing.

It's so frustrating when i see blokes who are more than deservant of a fair go ( pre-season, training full-time with 1st grade) get stuck in the shithouse NSW cup with shithouse coaching and facilities where they will most probably rot away.

I like the fact you are willing to put your thoughts out for all to comment on but I really don;t understand how you can change your mind so easily. Today alone you put forward the team above, and in another thread earlier today you put the following team. Which is it? I say everyone simply puts their preferred team in their signature!

Poor Tom Symonds didn't even have a run today and he's been pushed to the bench.

            Your team from earlier today.

            First Grade

            1. Anthony Minichiello
            2. Sam Perrett
            3. Mitchell Aubusson

You're kidding, he's a back rower. Or are the Roosters going to continue that fine tradition of playing players out of position?

Oh, and as to the team saying they were going to "play for Fitzy", well hasn't that turned out to be a load of spin.

Well I only pushed him to the bench because I realised that we have far too many defensive deficiencies. The point of the new team was to get rid of Jones and SKD to reserve grade, to bench Mason (Cherrington or Waerea-Hargreaves can move into the backrow if that happens).

If Symonds started in the backrow, then I'd like Koups on the bench. But if Conn is in the team, I'd like Symonds on the bench.

                      Conn!!!

He's played the majority of this year in the QLD Cup and will spend plenty in the NSW Cup next season.

Summed it up for me when the half time speech from Fittler was "If we are going to lose, we need to give it our all and go down fighting". It was 18 nil at half time, not a deficit too huge. Mind you under this team....

the newtown 5/8 a little poly guy with big hair, played pretty well, very enthusiastic, nice passes caught the centre on the chest for a try, but hell never be a fg player, much too small!

Thats nothing. The Mack of old would've had 10 teams with 40 reserves for each position posted before 10am.

                            We love you Mack!
