  • Forget about everything else.

The score of Maloney's and Jennings performance or even Mini's performance, the thing that I was more pleased with and in the long run the most important factor which will ultimately decide how far we go in this comp was
THE DEFENSE SHOWN BY THE TEAM. It's a long time that I've seen a defensive effort like that, well done coach for instilling this very important facet of the game in their armoury.

I didn't see the game but I like the feedback coming out that the defence was good last night.

Attitude towards defence is going to dictate where the Roosters finish this year.

This is fact IF YOU ARE 1 OF THE TOP 4 DEFENSIVE TEAMS you will be playing finals football.
This has to be the number 1 goal. Success will follow.

How I long for the sub 400 numbers our team achieved in the Ricky days.

The irony is that the Brumbies have credited their improved defence to their new defensive coach Brian Smith ?

Unforunately I wasn't able to attend the game but that is great news! Hopefully the boys can keep that effort up becuase with the amount of talent in our side, I don't think scoring points will be an issue

It's the forward thinking of Smiff and his attention to detail that makes him such a valuable asset to any club he goes too. That and the innovative cherry picker. Did I see that Robbo has had it removed from the training paddock?

I can't forget the past 2 seasons of woeful defending.

I'm optimistic about our defence this year but I'll wait until we're a few rounds in, The NRL will be a completely different intensity. If the boys can continue to maintain their structures under that type of pressure and fatigue then I'll be impressed. Remember in 2010 our defence under Robinson really didn't click into gear until the second half of the season, it may still take time.

It is quite impressive if we can improve in that area this season. A big part of a successful defensive structure is adapting to game plans. Different teams attack differently, so it is important that the coach treats each team as a different proposition and picks out their weaknesses. Storm did it well last year, especially when they compressed the Bullduds in the GF and shut down their flow of attack.

Mate, it's unbelievable how the sh1t that we flush down turns to gold in other people's hands.

I met up with some of my mates today at my local pub and after a few drinks we started talking footy. My mates who go for the tigpies couldn't believe that we had let Banasta go. Same thing happend a few years ago when we let pillow go. I started laughing when I heard how much the faders had offered him to go down to canberra. A few years later, again, we are made to look like clowns. Finch at the storm is another one. Won a comp with them but couldn't get through a set play with us.

The most amazing part of the trial wasn't the attack, wasn't the defence, wasn't any of the players. It was something I haven't seen in 10 years.

COGGY SOUNDS EXCITED. and it is only the pre-season. It even sounds like from his post that he actually went to a trial game. It's early days but something weird is going on. I am feeling the love. The chookpen just won't be the same........until we lose a game.

Is it any coincidence that a meteor hit the earth the same day Coggie exuded this much positivity? The universe can't handle it.

The last time I was this positive was when the team had a guy called Fittler running the show, in other words when we had a good side, GO FIGURE!

Higher, sentient beings have possessed Coggy's body and are executing stage 1 of their nefarious plan for world domination with an apparent, run-of-the-mill post on the Chookpen. Little do they realise that we can see through their flimsy veil of dopplegangmanship.
