  • 2010 season?

hey everyone, I don't know weather to get excited for next season or not. So many problems. What are you looking forward to and arn't for next season?

Anasata no where the 6 jersey, Carney ripping it up, A hooker that is getting better each game, Jaredwhatshisname matureing as a footballer and smashing ****, Ryan Willamson scoring a few trys in FG, Seeing Brian Smith spark up SA or seeing Brian Smith sack Sa, Seeing Soli gone, Seeing Ogre leave a game that became to fast for him. There are heap of things that should get any Rooster fan excited. Esp a new year and a new start.

AND SEEING THE ROOSTERS ****ING DESTROY THE SLOTH SYDNEY BUMMIES.

It may not be the fix all the problems but its a dam good start.

Looking forward to - Some of the kiddies here being a little bit older.
Not looking forward to - knowing they might be 1 year older, but they are just as dumb as always

Looking forward to seeing people bag Carney for his first few weeks back in FG whilst he gets back up to speed and then watching them change their tune once his form pics up.

Would also like to see some of the kids Kingbilly refers to stop calling players who are approximately their own age 'kids'!

                  I would like to see:

                  - Cherrington, Symonds and Jones to be the next group to join the already established youth like SKD, Perrett, Sa (if he stays), Nuuausala, Pearce, Friend and the Aubusson's as regular first-graders in our team

                  - youngster Boyd Cordner to step up at the age of 18 and begin to show the promise that has him earmarked as the one to pick up where Fitzgibbon left off

                  - Mason, Kouparitsas, and any other deadweights to leave, you have done enough damage to the club, we are now starting fresh, bye-bye and good riddance

                  - our players standing up for eachother on the field, tackling in groups, playing well-disciplined but tough footy, and not backing down meekly when the going gets tough

                  - unearthing a centre with some pace...and then having our new halves combination work up the ability to get this new centre some good ball!

How can you say in the same post that you want SKD and Sa, who make constant mistakes, and never seem to learn from there mistakes. Yet, you want Mason (Who since his gotten his confidence back from his knee injury has been our best go forward guy) and Koops (Who has been played out of position yet has been giving 100%, makes a lot of tackles in the short space of time his out there and has set up a couple tries) gone

I didn't say I 'want' them. I noted that they are established first graders that are relatively home grown.

SKD might make errors on the field, but he isn't a worry off the field, and I feel that with him, it is more a mental thing then ability. Ability-wise, he is fast, strong, and can score tries. Mentally, he panics which can lead to rushed decisions and sometimes costly mistakes. But he does put in. Sa, on the other hand, has a terrible attitude and if he has to go, he has to go.

Mason is causing turmoil within the club. His arrival has cost us plenty of players, he tries when he is on the field but still doesn't do as much as his paycheque warrants. From varied accounts, he causes rifts between players, and a few off-field disagreements between him and club officials and staff have him under close watch.

Kouparitsas is just a nuffy. Although, at the current time, I would probably cut Sa before I cut Koops. Sa is younger, has more talent clearly, more pace and skill, but the terrible attitude is letting him down drastically, and it is dragging down those around him.

                          I really don't think so.

Our first-grade team is a tackling backrower and a good centre short of a good team. I expect Braith at lock to be a spectacular failure, and him to demand a release at the end of 2010.

Samuela will still be in the U20s team, Towers is meant to be good as gone, Kane Linnett will be too old for U20s next year.

                          It will probably be:

                          First Grade

                          1. Anthony Minichiello
                          2. Sam Perrett
                          3. Mitchell Aubusson
                          4. Ben Jones
                          5. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
                          6. Todd Carney
                          7. Mitchell Pearce
                          8. Lopini Paea
                          9. Jake Friend
                          10. Nate Myles
                          11. Willie Mason
                          12. Tom Symonds
                          13. Braith Anasta

                          14. James Aubusson
                          15. Nick Kouparitsas
                          16. Jared Warea-Hargreaves
                          17. Frank-Paul Nuuausala

                          Newtown Jets

                          1. Luke Towers/Smith Samau - off-contract this year
                          2. Iwi Hauraki - not on a Roosters contract
                          3. Kane Linnett - unconfirmed signing, too old for NYC
                          4. Sisa Waqa
                          5. Sandor Earl - off-contract this year, too old for NYC
                          6. Setaimata Sa - if he stays, he should start the year with Jets
                          7. Liam Foran - not on a Roosters contract
                          8. Stanley Waqa
                          9. Riley Brown - off-contract this year
                          10. Martin Kennedy - too old for NYC
                          11. Mose Masoe - too old for NYC
                          12. Daniel Conn
                          13. Aiden Guerra

                          14. ???
                          15. Brad Takairangi - unconfirmed signing, too old for NYC

what does a tackling backrower really have to do with anything, it all depends who the defence runs at and whos defending in the middle. Which will be Friend and Jaubs, and they will tackle everything that comes there way. Williamson will be our centre
