SKD, deadset stop trying to force every single play, it is actually not the end of the world if you get tackled with the footy.
Minichiello, you know you aren't a five-eighth, just because your playing there it doesn't mean you are Freddy bloody Fittler. Just hold the ball and run!
Shackleton, Mason, Slowiola, Brown >>>>> leave now, you are not wanted.
It saddens me to see that the players who played with the most heart were probably Khalid Deeb, Stanley Waqa and Iwi Hauraki. I don't think any of them are under contract for next year, and Waqa is the only one of them who is even contracted to the Roosters at all - the others are both Jets. Sure those three aren't exactly flash, but at least they are playing with a bit of guts.
Nuuausala, Pearce, Friend, Fitzgibbon, Perrett, Myles and Aubusson - you guys get a pass mark. At least they tried out there. Swap the leaving Fitzgibbon with Minichiello, and these should be the ONLY players guaranteed a start in the team next year. No-one else as far as I am concerned has shown enough to be definites. Having only 7 players that a fan feels really deserves a FG spot next year is pretty sad.
But simply, it was not enough. It was grim from the get-go. Smith needs a complete overhaul in attitude at the club. Teach these players about composure when the other team scores, keeping your heads up and not losing control of the game, building sustained pressure through error-free footy and consistently solid kicking games. No rushed plays, no panic, no miscommunications, no fundamental errors.
Very unhappy.
As for Mason, did he get much gametime at all, i know he didn't pay his usual minutes. Looked like he picked up an injury.
Horrible substitutions all game.

The other highlight was probably seeing Mitch Aubusson show his class with some outstanding defensive reads and some great hands - he was probably our most dangerous player.
Perrett, Pearce, Fitzgibbon and Friend did all they can, they weren't flash or 'highlight' worthy, but they tried till the very end.
It is seeing guys like Mason barely get involved on the field, Shackleton and Brown spend most of the match on the bench, Jones and SKD making absolutely fundamental blunders, bloody soft marker defense, etc. that piss me off. Most of that is due to terrible coaching - Freddy, you are the coach, not the players 'mate'. He clearly doesn't realize the professional duty of a coach and the limitations it has on how it would affect mateship with the players.
Smith needs to get in the ear of some of these players to fix these fundamental mistakes and lazy miscommunations, or else they get cut.

Give the paychecks to Myles, Maubs, Friend and the rest can **** off.
If anyone still has fantasies about Jones playing centre, then you need some prescriptions. Like i said a month or so ago, big centres are going to have a field day with him.
2 interchanges - 3,5 minutes after half time - what the **** is that ?
Waqa gets 20-30 minutes a game and completes his complimentary 3 mistakes while Deeb gets a 15 min spell.
FPN at one point going to dummy half in the melb 20.
SKD being SKD.
Minichiello cannot defend in the front lines.
I can go on all day. Pathetic.
Saved me from watching the replay though, thanks mate.

I just couldn't bring myself to watching it. First game I missed all year. I've had a gut full of our attitude this year.
If we lost and played with the heart the gummies show then I can cope with that.

Deeb looks to be a big strong lad with a good carry. He seems to hit pretty hard too which can't be said for most of the players. Deeb was also playing with food or water because he is a Muslim and is going through Ramadam at the moment so it was an impressive showing I think from him. Waqa tried his heart out as did Hauraki. The level of football these blokes are playing is beyond terrible. I can see a massive scoreline coming up next week and us being on the wrong side of it.
