Nothing wrong with sticking by your mate after a fight like that and backing him the way $BW did, in the heat of the moment. I'm sure all the hangers on said and felt the same way. As would Geales supporters after the 1st fight.

But when you shove that heat of the moment opinion out there like $BW did well sometimes you are gonna regret what you say with the emotion running high. Good to see he saw sense in the morning and apologized for his emotional rant.

I know a lot of you see no problems with this sort of communication but IMO this highlights the dangers of such technology especially in Sports.

This sorta stuff isn't going away, it will only get worse.

Perfectly said. Exactly what I feel about the situation.
    Fartbook? Love it!

Geale is a smart cookie compared to most-

Even though my opponent was talking bad about me and questioned my aboriginal heritage, I still respect him as an elite fighter. Humility is the key to success. Always remember your humble beginnings. Don't forget where you came from and don't become corrupt by money and fame.

Great article. Needs to be more widely circulated.

What $BW said on twitter is inexcusable. It is no different to accusing a league referee of being a cheat or corrupt after a game of footy and it's not good enough to just delete the offending tweet, apologise and say it was just a heat of the moment thing. You call a ref a cheat after a game of NRL and you cop a mighty fine and suspension. $BW hasn't even played a game for us yet and he's already creating headlines for the club which we do not need. Extremely disappointing.
Already prophesied my friend. If anyone didn't see this sort of shyt circus coming then they are bind.

It was a very poor piece of judgement from him, but I don't really care too much.

We are his puppet. Getting SBWalkout on the books hasn't made us stronger as a club. It's shown just how weak we really are.

I agree with part of that mate, taking the punt on $BW does show how weak a position as a club we have been in.

But it remains to be seen if he makes us better as a club.

It's a gamble, as Carntey was, but IMO if you don't take the punt occasionally you will never know.

You must agree IF he plays anywhere near his potential the players around him and the club in general will improve???

Sometimes, especially when you're coming from a position of weakness, you gotta lay it on the line and take a gamble.

                      Big risk, often big reward.

If we lose, well we probably wouldn't have been any better off without $BW, so really we don't have a lot to lose.

                      You know it makes sense.

It's like we are a bunch of giggling wallflower schoolgirls allowing the captain of the football team to date us, use us and then dump us when someone better comes along. It's all too grubby and cheap for my tastes. No one player should ever be bigger than the club. I agree with Tony The Wheel's post too about us just falling in line and allowing him to dictate. I wouldn't tolerate that in a relationship and I'm not going to tolerate it with my beloved footy team either! I'm saving my cheers for James Maloney whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the cricket match a couple of weeks ago. Now there is a team player who has slotted right into our club, bringing positivity and laughter into our club. He's like a breath of fresh air...

Calm down guys... When the footy starts all we will care about is on field performance.. The off season drags on too long.

Not long enough for him to fit in a spot of pre season training though.......

I dont think he dictated the terms I think it suited us perfectly, we got him on the cheap due to the rugby and boxing allowing us to keep who we wanted.
For the money he is getting he will add value in terms of crowds tv appeal sponsors and members and he will also rub off on the rest of the team in terms of ethic. I spoke to JHW and he was jumping out of his skin to play with sonny as I am sure all the guys are.

The guy plays it clean and hard, even if he leaves after 1 season I feel the younger guys will learn from his appraoch, the guy is a professional backs himself and wants to win and would leave us in a strong position to sign a quality player and keep who we want.

Some ppl on here are all doom and gloom and I even wonder if one in particular is an easts supporter as the vast majority of his posts are negative of a manipulative nature, a true basket ball champion or should I say a dribbler and I often wonder how he can wake up and move in the morning with all that negativity.

We have a good team that will do well, I am not expecting miracles with a new 5/8, coach and playing style but I am expecting us to compete for a change.
