I have the massive shits with the NRL for hardly scheduling any Saturday or Sunday afternoon games.
When I travel to Sydney to watch the games I like to make a day of it with my young kids and do some family friendly activities before-hand. Nearly every game is played at night after most kid's bed-times.
How is the NRL going to get the next generation of fans?
There are six arvo games at the SCG this year. Take them to watch the Swans.
I know there will be the standard responses from those who don't understand or enjoy the game, but its a great afternoon.
Auskick on at half time. And as often as possible they open up the pitch after the game so you can go out and have a kick.
what do you all expect fans are only there to pay money and add background noise, the game is for TV so that product can sell via advertising during games, people like to relax on their own lounge in comfort and watch a the game on their wide screen plasma whilst having a cold beer , not having to Battle parking or public transport and overpriced drinks and snacks when its all cheaper fresher and safer at home. how dare we question the motives of tv execs they control the game scheduling not us, sunday afternoon at the footy is a pleasant memory of times past is pre breathaliser days!

Night games are after my bed time too! I finally have my weekends free and will probably head to Henson more to watch the Jets as well. I don't like being out at night, especially around drunks, and if I head back to the club after home games, it does make it a long evening/late night. It takes a lot of sleep for me to maintain my breathtakingly good looks...

I have two young kids aged 4 and 2. I took my 4 yr old daughter to her first chooks game, ANZAC day. She loved it, until half time when she decided that was enough. Made her stay for most of the second half but she had enough and we left with 10 to go. Kind of good because I never watched the end of the match so in my eyes we still won. It's like that at home too. I can still say I have never seen the chooks lose a match. Either the channel changes or the box is turned off before the end of the match so in my eyes the boys never lost a game in nearly 10 yrs.
In all seriousness I love night time footy but I can't take the kids, they would lose the plot heading into the second half.
I prefer the Sunday arvo games but i work every second weekend so it means i miss a few games, even though i hate the Saturday night games at least i work close enough to the SFS where i can comfortably get there even for the hideous 5.30pm games.Even the Friday night games are problematic, i work late Fridays every second week which means i even miss some of those

AFL have it all over NRL in this regard.
The day games at the SCG are great, love going to them when it doesnt clash with work, even though i dont really like the Saturday nights games at the SCG i can at least get to all of those.
Interesting on Sunday May 5th, Swans are playing Brisbane at the SCG and the Roosters are playing Penrith at the SFS.
