Good to hear. I was there till 94. When I started the school was run by brothers but then Smollet came in. Funny that this came up because I was going past the place just the other day and it has changed dramatically from what I remember. I have registered my son to go there in a few years time. The fees there are ridiculous high.

      Evans committed suicide.

Lots of kids with plenty of go and size (significantly helped by the early maturing lebanese catholic community), but they seriously need some mongrel coaching. There just isn't enough c*nt in them. With the ongoing demise of Grammer and High in rugby, it's a great opportunity for these types of schools (with the big enrolments) to 'step up' and really get stuck into Newington, Kings, Joeys, Riverview etc
We've always been fairly competitive for a school with the resources that we have. I remember once we had to go and play stans up in Bathurst. That was a loooooong trip back home. When you got tackled you definitely knew straight away.

Not sure who they play these days tbh.

Brother Burg was headmaster at St Leos up to about 1977,and then transferred to St Pats as Headmaster.

It was Brother Greening & then Brother O Shea with Brother Kirwan as the deputy. Brother Wallace was the Junior School Headmaster.

The current St Pats Sports Master was an old mate of mine Italian decent guy he has always gone for the Roosters.

I actually drove past it last week it will always gives me good memories of my time there. I have come to the conclusion that you can send your child to what ever school & if they are going to be academic & be a doctor thats what will happen. My parents wasted alot of hard earned money on me & if I didn't get my shit together I probably would have died. It doesn't matter what school you go to your life is mapped out from the creator.

I went to a public school where I could wear boardies, air max and a white penguin shirt and nobody cared if I turned up or not.

It sucks that you need money to get the best education.

                    Jesus.
Ok tried again. Got to B Hodgson this time and figured he was having a laugh.

                    I'm after quality not quantity.

Rattle off all the names you want, most of them are fringe first graders for a reason or strong young talent not capable of being competitive week in week out.

                    Squads thin out very quickly.

The proof is in the competition as it stands. Simple catch and pass is a stretch at times. Look at the performances our team has put up over the last few years.

I apologise Madrooster if I didn't give your post the time it deserved, I would hate to cop another stinging rebuke from SG.

Heh. Good response, though. I'm glad you articulated your opinion.

From the list of players off contract at the end of this upcoming season, and assuming form remains the same or better, the four players I would like to entice to the club are.

                        1. Sam Williams ( Halfback ) especially if Pearce does go to Saints as reported.

                        2. Aiden Tolman ( Front Row ) The grafting frontrower that everyside needs.

                        3. Matt Scott ( Front Row ) Depending on how our lot of props perform this year.

                        4. Josh Mansour ( Winger ) appears to have abright future ahead of him.

Lol at stopped reading at Hodgson... I thought you stopped before that?

Record tv deals and advertising deals tells me someone is liking the footy even if your not Dubai. Richie Faaso, Jaiman Lowe, Sisa Waqa are all fringe first graders... They won a competition last year. Jon Wright, Josh Jackson, Dale Finucane are all strong young talent who went within 80 mins of premiership, same for Kris Keating and Corey Payne who are fringe first graders.

Hypothetically Dubai..... Should we had been allowed to play in competition in 2010 competition based on our 2009 performance?

Other than in the Chookpen, where has this been reported?

The scary thing is that a lot of the rumors that seem to pass through here are actually coming true. It may sound like I believe in santa Clause by saying this but there may be some people on this site who are in the know.
