Yes we have made some great signings but have released our highest paid players.

This may be the first positive article that the telucrap has ever published in our favor. It explains the fact that we are under the salary cap.

What the hell is going on???........ since when do they write good stuff about us????
      Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

In all seriousness with SBW and Jennings signings we could be close to $2m under the salary cap with all the players we released and let go of in the past two seasons.

Some of the names mentioned already I could not see being signed to our club for less tha $200K a year.

yeah we must also give credit to pos for the way he has built this team up

          - BJ Leilua – $250k
          - Mose Masoe – $200k
          - Anthony Mitchell – $150k
          - Sam Perret – $250k
          - Braith Anasta – $450k
          - Nate Myles – $350k
          - Jason Ryles – $300k
          - Todd Carney – $450k

Sure we have signed some young guys but we had a heap of cap space prior to signing SBW & Jennings.

Nick has done a great job with his recruitement/player management in the last two years. He really got rid of some dead wood (Anasta and smith) as well as some trouble makers and replaced them with top players.

Since the beginning of last year....

            Loses:
            Braith Anasta (Tigers)
            Sam Perrett (Bulldogs, mid-season)
            Anthony Mitchell (Cowboys, mid-season)
            Justin Carney (Castleford, UK)
            Curtis Rona (Toyota Cup, Cowboys)
            Peni Tagive (Retired)
            Mose Masoe (Panthers)
            Joseph 'BJ' Leilua (Newcaslte)

            Gains:
            James Maloney (Warriors)
            Michael Oldfield (Sea Eagles)
            Nafe Seluini (Panthers)
            Samisoni Langi (Toyota Cup, Bulldogs)
            Sam Moa (Hull FC)
            Sonny Bill Williams (Rugby Union)
            Michael Jennings (Panthers)

In each case except SBW & Jennings, the new player would have come cheaper than the player he replaced. Yes we re-signed some young talent, but not (presumably) onto significantly bigger dollars.

In short, we probably still have a little bit of wriggle room, presumable for the re-signing of Pearce.

Sammy P was on more than 100K EEEEASILY!!! Also another guy called Anthony Mitchell left with him.

Over the past 2 seasons we were sacking/losing players all around and signing nobody.

Perrett, Mitchell, Conn, Carney, Anasta, BJ, Mose, Myles and Linnett for starters...

For them we got Maloney, SBW and Jennings. In the mean while the Storm kept Gronk, Slater and Smith with no salary cap issues.
sam was paid with the 10 year one team loyality payment, which i think was 200k. which i think minni will 20 years of loyality, naaah just ten.

as mentioned we also lost kane linnet and fil bloody graham myles, toddy
