"Bad attitude" was what was mentioned on the radio news.

Players have to wake up to the fact that it's 'now' the 2013 season and the rules have changed.

Clubs are no longer going to put up with anyone who is not giving 100% to the cause, on and off the field.
      'Good boys' only wanted
      .
They just go to another club.

A couple of things, this 4 week ban is the 1st I have heard, so does that mean he would have been out for the Roosters for the 1st 4 rounds?
If he was still contracted to us would he still of been paid for those 4 games or would they put a pro rater on his salary & minus the 4 game payments?

So if he signs for Newcastle before the season kicks off does that mean he will be paid to sit out?

My point is if these guys who get suspended for something off the field from the ARLC or NRL & still get paid well I cant see how it would bother the player especially someone like BJ so the only people who lose out are the fans.

So what are we doing with SBWalkout then? I dont think ive seen a player less committed to the Roosters since Vautin. His head is elsewhere. Hes even admitted that and I believe his actions over the next 12 months will also prove that.

Ralphy i don't want to get in a massive argument with you like others on here seem to do but, how do you know he isn't committed? All I've heard from all the people in and around the club is that Sonny is really committed.
I know your view and opinion of him, I respect that people have different opinions and we don't always see eye to eye.

I'm mildly annoyed that the club has sacked BJ overnight and refuses to comment.

As a paid member I feel I have to right to know why we dropped an Origin hopeful against his will without signing a clear replacement.

Now this ban is in place we are left wondering why a player who has been sacked is in trouble by the NRL. I've never seen such a ban before!!! On what grounds is it based?!? Why can't fans be told?!?

The ban of 4 weeks is a result of the issue Bj had with his ex and the photos.
Maybe the club doesn't want to air it's dirty laundry in the public arena anymore. I'm not fussed as to why the club hasn't told the full story. Knowing only he was released for discipline and a poor attitude is good enough for me. Weed out the the bad eggs and set an example to others, can only be a good thing

No probs Rooboy. No need to argue. We can discuss. Others like to argue however. Back to your question tho... Because he said so himself. Also, how can someone who is off with their hand in other sports be 100% committed to us? He wants to box and also go back to yawn ion. That's not commitment to me.

So we are penalising him for something that happened 6 months ago? I thought he had done his time? If its true, surely the same could be in store for others in the club with dodgey pasts?

Yeah I don't know how the NRL came up with the 4 weeks.
Remember Brett Stuart got 4 weeks for his off field indescretion even when he hadn't been charged or found guilty of anything yet. It's a bit strange but they are setting a precedence here. Every time you are accused of commuting a crime and found not guilty you get 4 weeks, seems strange

Fair call. To me,from what I read and hear through the media and the club, he seems to be focused and committed to the roosters for next year.
I know he said he wanted to go back to union and box but he is a professional sportsman, I think when he signs up for a team or fight he gives it every thing he has. I think when all his other commitments are finished he will be giving us everything he has but while there going on he still has some focus towards preparing himself for his return to league.

And thats the thing Roo. He might be preparing for league while participating in his other cash grabs which itself isnt fair on those sports. Same for us... if he is preparing on another cash grab elsewhere, then we will not be his main focus. Point is, league only, yawnion only or boxing only. I dont care if its one year at a time but focus on 1 thing only at a time. You will never get the best out of someone who is good at many things but you will get the best out of someone who is the best at one thing.

i think the new commish has layed down a law with the clubs , saying bad publicity. if there is any indescretions by a player, sack him ans set a precedent. thats what i think. for us to lose bj, parra sacked hoppawati(stuffed if i know how to spell it) son of the finger manfor a low range drink driving thing and a under 20s player for smacking rini mataua.

I have always thought that SBW had a soft spot for the roosters. I actually think that if he wasn't promised that the playing group was staying together at the bulldogs he would of signed for us back in 2008.
He seems as though he is the sort of bloke if he has a contract with you he will stay 100% committed to that club right up until the end of the agreement(bar bulldogs because they F'd him over).
Come February he will be all Roosters.
